Hi guys quick question me my husband & our 2 boys are here on 175 permanent residency visa we were granted this on 1st july 2010, a condition of our visa was that we had to enter the country within 9 months which we did(went to perth on holiday), we went back to the uk then returned in june 2012 after selling our house. My question is when can we apply for citizenship is it 4 years from the date we had the visa stamped which would be april 2011 or 4 years from when we emigrated which was june 2012 thanks

Hi everyone i just thought i would give a quick update things are good in brisbane we have rented a house in springfield lakes a lovely 4 bedroom close to school move in on or around july 30th got my 6 yr old enrolled at the local school my husband james has been for a couple of interviews and has registered with loads of recruitment agencies and it looks as if our container has arrived, we have to give our hire car back on Friday but a friend of ours is lending us her car until we can buy our own so everything is falling into place will keep you posted.

Hi we have now arrived in brisbane and i was wondering what we do about medicare how do we go about getting it where do we go to get it etc. Any advice and help would be very much appreciated. Thanks Lorna

Hi myself my husband james and our 2 sons connor 6 & ciaran 2 are emigrating to brisbane next wednesday from the uk we are staying in brisbane holiday village for about 5 weeks when we arrive not sure yet where we are going to be living have been looking at springfield lakes springfield augustine heights regents park but not sure yet would love to meet up with other families and make new friends Thanks

Thanks cal2 for clarifying that my son was 6 yrs old on 23rd March 2012 so that means he will be in yr 1 at least now i know for when we emigrate on 20th june to brisbane scared but excited

Hi we are looking at springfield or springfield lakes we have also looked at regents park and browns plains it all depends on where hubby gets a job our shipment is supposed to arrive july 14th then it takes up to 2 weeks to clear customs so hopefully we get our stuff by the end of july fingers crossed so where are you living now how are you enjoying it

Hi quick question we emigrate to brisbane 3 weeks today on 20th june we are staying in brisbane holiday village for 4 weeks i have 2 boys connor is 6 and ciaran is 2. I will have to get the 6 yr old enrolled in school but as we don't know yet where we will be living l cannot say which school he will be going to is there anything i can do before i leave the uk should i contact schools or leave it until we arrive in brisbane, i believe the schools are on holiday from june 22nd till 9th july, help as i am starting to get stressed out any advice would be greatly appreciated

Who are the best bank to open an account with in australia i emigrate to brisbane in just over 3 weeks and am hoping to have it all sorted for going over there any advice would be extremely useful Thanks

Hi i have a friend who is looking to emigrate in the next year or so her partner is an electrician she has asked me to ask what qualification he needs in order to work in australia or will he need to retrain when he gets to australia, also is emigration getting harder as of july i read that somewhere
