  1. hi all just an update i woke this morning to find an email from a case officer requesting meds and police certs. I heard my I phone beep in the middle of the night and had a good feeling and strangely enough it turned out to be what i was waiting for!. So unexpected though as i am only waiting 5 weeks!!.

Just a bit of advice from all you more experienced out there, as they only requested the meds and police checks i assume all other criteria are matched?. No form 80 required or 1221 etc.?. i hope so anyway.

I have been quoted £270 p/p in knightsbridge for Meds and £200 in Maidenhead. Police certs are in the post already. Just wondering also how does "time of month affect the meds" or does it affect it at all?. I read something somewhere that it may do?. Applies to my other half not me, THANK GOD!.

Congrats on getting a CO - very quick time too

I was only requested to get meds and pcc done too - no mention of anything else. I would assume your CO doesn't request any further information

'time of the month' would affect the medical for the urine test as they test for protein, glucose and blood in the sample.

There is a big difference in quotes there. Just my advice is to make sure that the hospital can do all the tests including the chest x-ray on the same day. Also make sure they are able to use the ehealth system so that they upload your results using your TRN number rather then you having to post the report to Oz.

    Good luck

  2. My dear Jit7, it feels like it has been years now.. Thank you for your support! :wubclub:

PS - are you already partying?

We had a few celebratory drinks over the bank holiday :goofy:

Just waiting for it all to sink in. Hubby is very determined to get everything sorted now. I'm keeping a bottle of champagne ready for when we can finally say "we're off"

  3. Guys I never expected it after going away on Holiday but I just got MY VISA! Excited now!!!!!!!!! It's been a roller coaster but am finally there!

I thought that StaceyLacey asked that in general and not directly to you Jit7/PatrickW!

I'm such a _______________ (feel free to fill in the blank)..

It seems to be quite a general question but I just answered it using my status as an example. You weren't wrong to reply!!!

  6. Thanks StaceyLacey and Bloomberg

It says on our status that we have until 28th May 2013 to enter Australia to validate our visa and also gives a date 5 years down the line for the validity of our visa (see below)

  7. GREAT NEWS EVERYONE - OUR VISA HAS BEEN GRANTED!!!!! :biglaugh:

I've been away for a few days so I've not been able to update, but our visa was granted on Monday. My husband and I are so so so so so so happy.

We've only just told his parents, but I'm very nervous about telling mine. They know that we are waiting but it has all happened quite fast. I can't say anything at work yet so I'm so grateful I have you guys on PIO.

We now need to sort out jobs, rent out the house, and get quotes for moving our stuff. We're hoping to be in Melbourne later on this year, but it just depends on how quickly we can secure jobs.

Just like PatrickW, I would like to say a big big thank you to everyone on this thread for the advice and support over the months. You've kept me sane!!

    Thanks again everyone

    Jit

  8. Mine showed required but when you get a case officer your status should say application being processed further and/or email sent to you.

Once a CO goes through your app, the required status will change to met.

I waited for the email before getting my medical and pcc done but that is entirely your decision.

    Good luck

  9. I'm fully with you on this one Jit7.

I've now been in the waiting room for going on 3 weeks. Medicals were delivered to DIAC on Monday 14 May 2012; marked as received on Friday 18 May, but one set of medicals were referred.

Today I got the referred set of medicals marked as 'finalised' - so I've now gone from the general paranoid visa checking of 6-8 times a day to the more frenetic shoving-to-get-to-the-exit-door-of-the-waiting-room checking of every 10 minutes or so.

    ARGH!

    Hurry up already!

*ahem* I'm trying to stay cool here, but I'm struggling.

    Patrick

    P.S. My morning ritual is:

    1. Get woken up by the alarm on my iPhone

    2. Roll over and turn off the alarm

    3. Press the 'email' button

    4. Check for an email from DIAC

    5. Sigh, swear, and re-set the alarm for 20 minutes' snooze time

    6. Go back to sleep

We're a strange breed of person in the waiting room.

I guess that will be my daily routine now!!

  10. One day into the waiting room and I think I have officially gone mad. I have been checking my status constantly. I checked at 11pm last night then 2am then 5 am and about 4 times since then. I bet the case officer has gone home already and making dinner on the bbq and yet i still keep checking!

    :arghh:

  11. Congrats guys on your grants. Its fantastic as things are moving.....

Gradually, i'm becoming one of the oldest guys here without a grant..Let all the elders in the house start to wish me a speedy grant.....and i am sure to be back with the testimony in a week......

175 Application submitted since June 2011.

I didn't realise you were still waiting. Have you been in touch with your CO? I wonder what the delay is.

  12. Who is looking after the google document now?

Please can my details be amended. We had our medicals on 23rd May and the hospital have signed everything off today and loaded details onto our case (however they do that)

I'm still waiting for the police certificates but I've been away for 2 days so I'm hoping they are waiting for me at home

Please can you update my details as above but we've received the cerificates so they will be loaded tomorrow

    Thanks

  17. ugh, just checked my online status and my meds are still "outstanding" even though they've been received Monday am in Sydney (according to the carrier). It's now Wednesday in Sydney, wonder if my meds will be acknowledged

Has your status changed from "received" to finalised or met yet, Patrick??

    Hi Sol2oz

Have you got everything sorted now? As in pcc and meds and any other requests. We've got our medicals tomorrow but the results will be loaded electronically.
