  1. Hello. Ive just done this. You need to log into your immi account. If you don't have one it takes minutes to set up. Our visas were done through an agent who would have charged us $500 to do this for us!!! But it's so simple to do yourself. You will need to have your visa grant number to add to your account. Once this is done there is a section on the right hand side that says change passport details. Click on this then change the bits you need to and submit it. If it's just a renewal then only the passport number and dates will need changing. Once I had done mine I then called Australia house in London to confirm they had received it and the visas had been moved onto the new passports. Which they did. The immi account has all details of your visa on it and is what they see in front of them. You can print off a screen shot of the immy account if you want to prove you've made the changes in case your worried. hope this has helped :-)
  2. I'm coming over next week so beginning of feb so it will still be summer! We are coming for a 3 week reccie. Can't wait!! I'm sure the temperature now doesn't drop below 21 degrees so don't think I'll need warm clothing for that
  3. This may sound a silly question but we are coming to the Sunshine Coast next week and want to know if I need to pack any thing like a cardigan/jumper for the evenings?? we have a place in Spain and in the summer you would never need anything to cover your arms or legs as it just doesn't seem to get cold enough yet been on holidays like Greece, turkey, Cyprus and the evenings get pretty windy and chilly. any help would be appreciated as need to start packing!!! Harriet x
  4. Hi. Just wondering of any one has had any luck in finding a toddler group in the noosa area?? I've been googling toddler groups but only come up with play groups for 3 years and over?? I have a 2.5 year old boy and would love to find somewhere nice to take Him during our stay in peregian beach. Really don't mind going to noosa or surrounding areas!! thanks harriet x
  5. Hi Sounds like your loving the Sunshine Coast. We are flying over in 5weeks and can't wait. What does your husband do for work? as finding work will be what sways our vote on the move. If he has been offered 3 jobs already then that's fantastic. glad you mentioned that Coles wasn't too expensive as again the cost of living will also add to our decision. Is Coles the equivalent to our tescos/sainsburys? we are staying in peregian beach but peregian springs looks a lovely place to live (maybe worthy look?) glad your settling in well. harriet x
  6. Hello. I don't know of any but we are coming over to the Sunshine Coast peregian beach for 3weeks to make the decision on whether to make the move over and would love to find a toddler group to take my 2year old to so I can get a taste of life on the Sunshine Coast. I will keep an eye on this conversation to see what comes up. harriet x
  7. This is exactly the reason we are coming over. I have lots of ideas in my head of how easy we will find work and how easy we will settle in etc but reality is very different. Like you said if there is no work then we won't be living there. We have to be where the work is. My husband commutes now but ideally doesn't want to carry on doing that so the closer to the work the better. there are so many areas we are going to look at, we have a very broad area to research and visit during our trip. We are going to be very busy!!! I must remember to save some days purely for holiday!!!!!
  8. Thank you for your reply. im a childminder at the moment and my husband is an electrician so hopefully he wouldn't find it too hard to find work? i wish we knew people who have moved out there to give us advice, your very lucky! good luck with your move over and we will be there in 5weeks sussing out all the areas we are interested in. We are staying in peregian beach which looks amazing, can't wait to go to noosa and surrounding areas to see what's best for us. Maybe in a year or so we will be in your position and getting ready for our big move :-)
  9. Hi Allison, i have looked at that area too and it looks lovely. how have you found getting jobs? Did you do anything about this when you were over on your hols? Do you know much about the schools? We have a 9 year old and a 2 year old. this trip for us will probably be the only chance we have of going over as a family so the decision really does lie in this trip. i am so excited but also a little nervous.....i just hope it lives up to my dreams!!! any info would be fantastic. thanks, harriet x
  10. No not yet. We are really using this trip to make sure it's what we want to do. My husband is an electrician but can also do air con and solar panels so I think he has a good chance of getting a job if its what we decide. I am a childminder at the mo but would ideally like a part time job in a shop or cafe to get me by when the children are at school. We are in no great rush to get there as we are mid way thought extending our home in the uk so would need to complete that so it's ready to rent out. We would ideally look at the move being sometime in 2015 the earlier the better. it's some thing we've both dreamed of doing and can't see that this trip will change our plans, just make us want it more!
  11. Yes I've looked in to the markets, they look fab. There are some others in the surrounding areas too which I'm sure I will drag my husband round. Do you know if there are groups like little nippers that run on week long courses for my 9 year old to join. I really want to get the feel for living there and would be lovely to meet a few people out there too and for my children to make a friend or two would be fab as if we do decide to move out there then it will be to the Sunshine Coast area. im so excited, the 24 hour long flight with a 2year old isn't even phasing me!!!!!!! Haha.
  12. It's only 5weeks until we get to the Sunshine Coast and I couldn't be more excited. This 3week trip will decide wether we pack up our lives here in the uk and move to oz. We are staying at peregian beach near noosa and it looks fantastic. We have the obvious trips planned like Australia zoo, lone pine koala sanctuary, underwater world etc but want to know if there are any other excursions that we should do? I also want to know if there are any toddler groups on that my 2 year old would enjoy. this is our one chance to make our decision so I need to treat this trip as tho we lived there and do the things we would do in normal day to day life. I am so excited now, thinking of starting to pack our cases!!!!
