  1. Thank you for that, can I also check if I train in Sydney would this course allow me to teach anywhere within Australia or is it only state relevant? I haven't quite got my PR yet so from the sounds of what you have mentioned it is probably worth doing the 2 year Master of Primary.
  2. Hi, I have been trying to get my head around what I am required to do to become a primary teacher. I completed a bachelors degree in England in sport science and outdoor activities. In England I understand that I could go on to do a PGCE to become a primary school teacher but I am not sure if in Australia I should be completing a Masters of primary education or a graduate diploma of teaching? Also any other advice would be good as I am hoping to have my permanent residency granted soon and want to know what I am required to complete to become a qualified teacher. Also if people know what university's are the best for this subject within Sydney or Melbourne I would love to hear your views! Thank you
  3. I'm not 100% sure on this but I was told police checks are only valid for a year. I would assume this occurs for all visa types.
  4. Thanks, I reckon we will just do the same then. Now to sort out my police checks and I think I am almost there! It does take a lot of effort to sort this stuff out, especially when we are travellers and haven't necessarily lived in a house to have bills and rental agreements! I just hope our evidence is sufficient enough!
  5. Hi, sorry to be a pain but I have tried to find the answers but have not been successful. I have managed to work out what my partner and I need to write in our stat decs, but we are unsure which stat decs we need to use. I have found the partner visa application stat decs online but the space that you have to write in is tiny and would only fit a few sentences in! Hardly enough room to write about 2 years of a relationship! So my question is where have people got the forms on so they are appropriate for my partner and I to write our stat decs? Thank you
  6. Thank you. I very much appreciate the help. Hopefully I will be back in action soon!
  7. Hey, I have recently moved to Glebe and I was wandering if anyone knew of any badminton clubs nearby. i have read that they have some at teh universities but wasn't sure if there were any others. Also if anyone knows of any good karate clubs as i would like to get back into my sports that I used to participate in in England. Thanks Ali
  8. Thank you for your response. Just to be a pain do you happen to know if you hire a lawyer here if they are able to complete this criminal record check by authorising someone as I don't actually have any contacts in China any more, and its not a place I would be able to travel around easily! Thanks again
  9. Hi, I am British but lived in China for a year before I came to Australia with my partner. We are looking into applying for a de facto visa and to do this I need to obtain police checks from countries I have lived in for a year or more. The one in England I am not worried about as I have my family there who I am hoping to authorise to do this for me. But I don't have many contacts in China and I lived in a small city which didn't speak much English. Therefore it would be a very hard task for me to be able to obtain a police check by myself, especially seen as I don't speak mandarin! So therefore I am wandering if anyone has used an immigration lawyer before and whether they are able to help people obtain a police check? Thanks for reading and any help given. Alison
  10. Hi, I am just wandering if you happen to know if I can lodge a tax return when I am on a working holiday visa (417) as my visa runs out in a month and I am renewing it, but I am not sure if I have to do it when I leave the country or whether I can do it at any time. Thanks Ali
