    Am i mad!?

Interesting comnents, thank you everyone. We moved because we thought it would be a better lifestyle for us and our kids. At the time it felt right and I'm sure once I get back to my Australian home it will feel right again. I do worry about both sets of parents but also feel that our kids are missing out on the family units in oz although we have great friends, its not family and i honestly still don't like Christmas in oz!!! Am i mad!?

Long time no chat on here, we moved to oz 6 yrs ago and we love it....or so i thought! Im back for a "holiday" and haven't felt so at home, i slotted back in with family and friends, like I've never been away...i mentioned it to dh (who's still in oz with kids) but he said he doesn't really want to start all over again if we moved back. Meaning mortgage, job, new furniture etc. I can just see it being much easier than moving to oz. Am i mad to persue it or do i let it drop and go back and enjoy oz again?! I know no one can live my life but just after opinions of those that have maybe done it? Thanks
  5. Hi we are on a 457 visa and only get reciprocal healthcare from Medicare, is this what you got? We have a daughter with an eye issue so need to keep private health going for her but otherwise we're not bothering although we did have to have it to get the visa granted!
  6. Hi - we've got our landline up and running today which is great but whats the deal with cheap calls to the UK?? I sorted my parents out with Just Call details before we left but cant find anything similar over here. Any ideas for would be greatly appreciated - Thanks xx

I was so lucky in the UK that they were healthy looking piggies in everyshop but its different over here ( Thanks for any advice H xx

  9. If its any consolation I rehomed 2 dogs, a cat, (a rabbit and 2 ducks) and I'm so glad I did now I'm out here! They are all in happy homes and have probably forgotten all about us! It would have been soooooo tough having them out here with rentals etc and although I hated every minute being in the house in the UK without them its much easier here not to have any ties. Its tough but stay strong, its for the best (imho) xx
  10. Well he got the job now just waiting on the visa to come through! Where abouts in toowoomba are you? Pm me with any info I need, be good to meet up!!z x

  13. Hi - does anyone know (or point me in the right direction) of finding out about hospital treatment for severe shortsightedness in children?? My daughter sees a optomotrist every 3 months and has to wear a patch daily, this should be over soon as shes had this treatment for nearly 2 years but wondered where we stood when we move to Oz?? We are aware we will prob have to pay for treatment. Thanks for any answers. H x
  14. So huntsmen do come inside?! Ooooo my 3 year old will be very excited about this, he cant wait to "go on a plane and see the spiders!!!!!!"
  15. We are counting sown the weeks to moving so getting onto the finer points!! :twitcy: We originally said to the shippers that we would take our tumble dryer as I had read that condernsing ones are rare and expensive in Oz, on looking at the said suspect it would take alot of cleaning (not that I'm skanky but its not on the top of my list to scrub!) to get it through customs so is it worth it?? Thanks for any thoughts H x
  16. I can sympathise - I was all set to bring 2 dogs and a cat over to Oz, the jabs were done, the bloods were done but just decided through fate (long story!) that it would be better if I rehomed them all. They have all gone to fantastic families who will love them to pieces and the only upset for them was having me blubbing all over them!! I felt awful but really it was for the best - I kept their name tags so I'll always have a reminder of them. xx
  17. I am flying in about 3 months with our children aged 5 and 3 (hubbie will already be out there working) and I wondered which airline would be the best in everyones opinion to travel with children?? Thanks H x
