  1. I was sent it by my case officer but you can also down load it from the immigration site go to immi.gov.au and foloow the links to the forms and booklets. If you have little to nothing to do with him I would advice you get all of them signed together. Be aware that the statutory declaration must be signed in front of a magistrate or notary public as it has to be witnessed, he will require ID for that as well. The same person can certify all of your documents at the same time. I know how hard this is but believe me I am now just waiting for the visa approval and it is worth the wait and the hassle, even though you don't feel like it is at the moment. Good luck. if you need a statutory declaration let me know and I will send a PM to you containing the one I used.
  2. I was in the same boat as you except that my ex partners whereabouts was too close for comfort. Despite him having never been given PR under the law where we live he still had to sign a certified statutory declaration and form 1229. A certified copy of ID was also required. It doesn't seem to matter that they have no responsibility in the country of the childrens birth they are just covering their backs by making sure that there will be no custody battles across continents. I would suggest you try to locate him and get him to sign the paperwork or the case officer may reject your application.
  3. I got mine from this forum, if I remember correctly I typed in the search statutory declaration and several different threads came up. Failing you finding this I will send a copy and you can just fill in the blanks by pp.
  4. Just to let everyone here know that AQIS are at the moment doing a risk assessment into bringing parrots into OZ. It may take a few years to get going and be put into place but it is good news for those of us who really want their parrots with them.
  5. Thank you for all the information provided, I am still waiting for a reply from AQIS as their website is somewhat contradictory. Fingers crossed they may still let me take her.
  6. I am looking at going to NSW at the moment with a view to moving to Queensland after a short time. The macaw I have is a cross breed (blue and gold with a green wing) so not that common.
  7. Does anyone know if you can take your pet parrots (specifically a macaw) when emigrating. I have looked on the sites and they seem to be a bit out of date. I would be taking it from the UK and have had her for 16 years so would really like to take her with me. Please can anyone help?
  8. I am just waiting for my visa to be granted which will put me in NSW, but I hope to move to Toowoomba as soon as possible after I get over there. it is the one area that I looked at that I really felt was for me. My aunt used to live in Brisbane and said it was nice there but a little far out for her, I want far out as I have lived in big cities most of my life and really want rural. I have two children younger than yours and think this would be a perfect place for them. If is doesn't work out like that then I will find somewhere that is. Good luck
  9. Look for a Notary Public they are usually based in a solicitors and are very reasonable. These are also recognised by DIAC. Make sure you get all documents certified as a batch lot or you may end up paying more than once.
