  6. I am really sorry you had to go through this Cathy. It is so sad to know how much ignorant and selfish some people could be. I wish you get over this and go on with your life. Take Care!
  7. I think the examiners would prefer more sophisticated connectors instead of firstly, secondly, etc. Neglecting the other side of the argument or the comparison is a big big mistake. It would imply that you ran out of ideas and vocabulary, which is not good to show to the examiner. Sent from my GT-N7100 using Tapatalk 2
  8. There is one technique I read on a book. When you first read task 2, think about it for a moment. Then write short notes of your thoughts and main vocabularies you're going to build your arguments on. Comparison also helps if you have argumentative essays or opinion essays. Wish you the best of luck!
  9. Grammar (including punctuation), spelling, weak/repeated vocabulary, poor technique and approach. Too short/too long essays.
  10. Personally, i think people around you will be very helpful. This is what I did myself. I know an English teacher who was willing to help me out on his spare time. I used to write two essays a day and them send them over to him for corrections and comments and so on. I carried this daily exercise out for almost a month and the took the test again. That's it!
  11. Hi rose4rose I am sorry to hear that. I did IELTS myself 3 times until I got the required 7 in all modules. Writing was my nightmare. There is only one way to tackle this: practice. You need to write as many essays as you can. Have people read your writing and ask for their opinions. You also need to seek professional advice if possible (English teachers were a great help in my situation). I wish you the best!
  12. I wish you hear some good news soon. I am also waiting to hear from my CO. I lodged our application 31/05/12 and done the meds and PCCs in August I guess. I wish I know when I am expected to have the grant letter so at least I can arrange flights, accommodation, etc... Anyways, wish you all the best of luck Ashraf
