  1. did he hold a uk passport also. surely you are able to claim your super back from AUS if its your second home and UK being your birth place and new home
  2. we will be citizens this year as we have been here so long. we are british born though...
  3. hi, we are looking at returning to the UK in 2014. i was wondering if anyone knows how to handle your australian super. I have about $60k-70k built up over the years and i was told that its very simple to with draw once you tick the 'not retutrning' box in your exit card when leaving oz! is this true? we would like to put our super into pounds and use it to help set up our new life when we return next year. advice... thoughts..? anyone went through the process?
  4. can i ask where you are living in scotland? I am from glasgow and we are thinking of moving back to glasgow in 2014. we have been in sydney for 8 years but it just doesnt feel like home, despite being here for so long. i look forward to the day we make the deciision to come home and book flights, and then actually following through! any advice on moving back would be greatly appreciated!
  5. hi tracey i am originally from glasgow so if you have any queries about the place then let me know! Good luck!
  6. Hi, yes we have thought about that - why give up a perfectly decent lift here. when i say decent, as i mentioned before we have jobs and a secure income but in regards to friends, that was slightly exagerated, more like aquaintencses and also, with the prices of homes in decent areas, it will prob take us year to be able to save up for the deposit! we are considering going home to the UK when my daughter will be 3 so that gives us a bit of time to see if the UK works out but if not, come back to Aus and my daughter would be young enough not to be too affected by the move. decisions decision! help !!!
  7. Can i ask if u were scared to move back to the uk (lack of jobs, terrible weather (lol)? and also, at what point did you decided enough was enough and book the flight home? My husband and i have been in OZ (syd) for 6.5 years and we have a 2 year old. we have been thinking of moving home for 18 months but not sure when to do it and if we would be making a big mistake as we are both employed here in good jobs, good pay, have lovely friends however no family and have felt SO unsettled for a long time. we want to come back but scared to do so any advice?
