  1. Don't know your age etc.. But here's a thought (did it myself so can vouch that it's fun!) Move from your relly's place into a hostel, you'll met a LOT of people very quickly. Take a few trips, the coast, up to broome is good if you're in Perth, you might want to consider taking a few weeks out at a time to get yourself out and about and sharing a car trip with others up the coast is a lot of fun! The girl will be missing you too (hopefully) and having fun will take your mind off it, she can always come visit if she wants can't she? Give it a little time, I guess 5 weeks without 'proper' socialization can seem a little isolating if you're not used to it, but there are options to get out and meet people, even if it's just to relax and have a few road trips! Whatever you decide to do, good luck, and make sure it's for you and no one else, there are very few opportunities you regret doing more than not doing!
  2. I applied for a 175 online and put in all of my information, except the case officer is asking for it ALL, again? Is this normal, or are there some forms you don't have to submit if you applied online? Be interested to know which forms you actually need if you applied online and have IELTS and VETASSESS already uploaded? (I noticed that the case officer didn't make any mention of VETASSESS at all as I need to seemingly submit every single pay slip or the last 10 years and a full employer reference as well?!?!?!) If so, what is the POINT of VETASSESS? Help please, I have 28 days - the 2 days I was away before ALL documents have to be in?!?! There's hundreds of pages, plus scanning in time!:arghh::arghh:
  3. HI all, Experienced bods...a question? I only applied (175) on 2nd April this year, having done vetassess and IELTS. I got an e-mail a few days ago from Adelaide with a LOT of PDF attachments requesting a ton of further information and an 'officer name' in a team at processing. Does this mean I now have a case officer, less than 2 months in? Is this a good/bad sign? I'd mentally prepared myself for a 2 years wait! Ta!
  4. Joanna, Thank you, at least I've not wasted the application fee! Now, just to get a CO, get the paperwork, pass medicals, have a reccie, find a job, decide on a loction, move. Ah, and tell both sets of parents!!!!!! Should be easy!
  5. Just a quick question to all who've applied online. I submitted once I had passed my IELTS and VETASSESS, only to find a whole host of stuff then being requested! Now, as far as I can make it, My partner and I don't have to 'prove' the relationship as we have a 15 month old midget together (we're not married and have been living together 4 years, together 11 years in total). The list of stuff (no contact from DIAC as yet, I guess it's very early days for a CO on a 175 given we only applied in april!) The list of stuff states we have to provide proof however. Now, the 'only' proof we have is as follows: (the proof being things in joint names) Our child! Last 3-4 years of joint car insurances (we both have these) Last 2 years home insurance Both of our death in service policies which pay out our pensions to each other, the criteria of which is being in a relationship for a minimum of 2 years before being eligible to nominate. Holiday photo's scanned in and saved as a PDF for file size of our holidays (canada, wales, norfolk, and a couple of chstimasess as well. ) Now, have I mucked up as while I've been hunting out this paperwork the 28 days they give you has elapsed. have I just thrown £2,000 plus down the swanny? God I hope not! I've also uploaded all of our birth certificates and vetassess/ielts and photos for ID as well so trying to front load everything except medicals and police. Will it matter that i've not met the 28 day time scale for this as we probably won't be allocated a CO for another year yet?!?!?
