  1. I have checked my email from DIAC and it does say that my briding visa will start when my current visa expires, it does have the work limitation 8017 still attached to the visa where by it makes it complicated to switch employer. From what has been stated above it may take a while or i could hear something soon, basically i'll just have to wait and see what happens. My application was complete and extremely detailed apart from the health and character checks. I was advised to hang fire on these due to the long waiting times. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks for the help guys although i'll be in serious strife if I need a visa to fart!
  2. I am on Bridging Visa A with the same conditions as my 457, unless it kicks in when my 457 expires in Septmember, i'll have to have a good read. Just wondering how long the application takes as i meet the requirements to go straight onto PR.
  3. I applied for my spousal visa at the start of june and when i sent my application the $2960 was taken from my account the next working day, I was then placed onto a bridging visa whilst my application is looked at. I havent heard anything now in 7 weeks and Im lead to believe there are currently long processing times. It in an onshore application and I am residing in Queensland. Just wondering if anyone can tell me any accurate current waiting times?
  4. In the end I put my faith on Aus Post registered service and they didnt let me down, sent it yesterday, 3k of my hard earned money out today and Bridging Visa A granted, now the wait begins........................
  5. I am sending my visa application and it has grown to quite a substantial size due to the information required. I am a little worried about sending it as I want to make sure it gets there (Brisbane). I've had one or two times where things have done missing in the post and it would be terrible if it happened in this instance due to the time and effort involved preparing this application. I guess the best way would be take it there myself, as Brisbane is a 2+ hour drive i'll have to post it. Is registered post the best way to go? or are there safer, better options?
  6. apparently according to the emails I eventually received neither need to be cerified. I'll get it sent asap and wait to hear on the health and character checks. Thx for the help guys
  7. so its completely fine to lodge the application even though its not complete without these health and charachter checks?
  8. as the UK police check call centre wont answer my calls or emails and the Australian centre wont answer my emails and are constantly engaged can anyone answer these couple of questions? the first is, does the copy of your drivers license for the OZ application need to be certified? and for the UK one, it asks for 2 official proof of addresses such as official letters, I have one from QLD government and one from my insurance company, is that ok? also, does the copy of my passport need to be certified?
  9. if its required it will be in the document checklist which is in with the application forms etc. The form 80 is simple but its just a bit of a chew on trying to remember dates etc
  10. I have just completed all my visa application for the 820-801 spousal visa. I'm just wondering when to get my police checks done both here in Australia and back in the UK (where im originally from) and also my health medical here in Australia? Im told they all have a validity time and that there are big queue's with regards to the application's being processed. My question is, do I get them done now or is ok to submit them later when requested for by the relevant case officer? I assume it is ok to submit without them? Everything else requested for the application is complete.

    Visa options

I am currently on a 457 visa and I am looking to migrate to Australia from the UK and be with my fiance who ive lived with for 2 + years and my 2 month old daughter. I am about 60% through doing a spousal visa application as my 457 ends in September. I was just writing up my statement tonight and was thinking is the spousal visa my only way to migrate here. I'm pretty sure it is my only way but before I pay the $3k in a few weeks time I just though id ask the question. I'd be kicking myself if I didnt! Thankyou in advance.
