  1. We arrived in Adelaide Back in July, and would say a massive thanks to PetAir for delivering our Dog & 2 Cats safe & sound without any problems at all. We used the gold service and Joanna was great, guided us through the entire process. Massive Ebay style A+++Highly recommend

This is good to read as we are just about to start the process with Pet air, just waiting to hear back from Joanna regarding our revised quote! And I have to say Bob has been very helpful answering my many questions up to now.

Im very nervous about the whole thing as my cat is quite a sensitive soul and I'm worried about how it will all affect him.

  3. DinkyDoo i wish you a good luck this time and if you needed any help let me know as i went through all the process alone with no agent so i might had a good knowlage in case u wanted anything.

Thank you, we are using an agent this time so hopefully this will help us,

    Congratulations on your visa

  4. Well we have received some good news this morning. Please turn me purple.

We got our visa grant letter today so now we need to start actually planning the move. It feels surreal - I'm excited but OH is away (home tonight though and the champagne is chilling) and no one at work even knows we applied so I can't even tell anyone.

    Congratulations

  5. So sorry to hear that. It's an insane result when clearly he had months of extra experience by the time a CO looked at your file!! Where do you go from here? Are you going to re-apply for the visa Dinkydoo?

We are applying for state sponsorship so we'll see how we get on with that..........................!!!!!

  6. From memory they fell 4 weeks short of work experience...

Yes you're right, OH aussie work work experience fell short of just 4 weeks(he actually had 17 months experience in total but it was calculated from date of application) we couldnt claim the extra points needed so it was a void application due to not enough points!!! very frustrating!!! all that money gone....................................

  7. PS - Anyone heard from Dinkydoo? Best of luck to you if you are still watching this thread x

Thanks for thinking of me, we are on the verge of lodging our state sponsorship application.....................................so more waiting!!

  8. Hi - well my PCC has arrived in the post this morning but no sign of OH's. Is this normal? They were sent in the same envelope and we got an acknowledgement back for both at the same time so I expected them to come back the same day.

Ours arrived on different days even though we sent them together, may come tomorrow?

  9. Like I said, Pick yourself up. If you apply today, you will probably have state sponsorship by end of this month. Then apply to DIAC again and you will probably have your visa's by March. I know its a bummer as I was in the same position where DIAC go from the end of the month you started work. EG: If you started on the 2nd March, they go from 30th March unless you can get documented proof you started on that date in your reference letter. For this reason I too got caught short and had to go back to my previous employer for a reference so know exactly the issue your going through. I would suggest though you do it now rather then sit round and weigh up your options.

Hubby will need to retake the IELTS test to qualify for full marks off 20 points, he got 7,7,8,9 last time which was enough before new changes in July 2011, so will get that sorted as soon as.

Need to check which states are definately sponsoring his qualification.

I am assuming that we will have to medicals done again for a 'new' application?? I suppose ploice checks will be ok as long as the dont run out?

  10. So sorry to hear that, glad you haven't given up and good luck please keep us informed of how it all goes.

    Tania

Thank you and I hope your house sells quickly, will no doubt stay on hear to keep up with everyones news.

Do 176 state sponsored visa take long???????

    ONWARDS AND UPWARDS.................................................................

  11. So, not good news from our camp I'm afraid, no right to appeal the decision. So gutted......

Dont know where we go from here??? I dont want to give up on my dream just yet.............

Maybe state sponsorship???? will spend some time later looking into it but not really sure how it all works.................????????

Best start saving them pennies!!! if we do anything its going to have to been sooner rather than later...OH turns 45 next November and would like to get it before the July 2012 changes...

  12. Would just like to say congratulations to all you guys who got CO;s today, I guess you could say we got ours too, just not with the news we hoped for, today has been an emtional rollercoaster and I still havent got off, still unsure as to what our next step is, got a lot of thinking to do and probably saving too, sadly time isnt on our side either as we are both in our 40's

Anyway hope it continues to be a good week for you all with CO's, visa's and house sales x

  13. Hey,

So sorry to hear of this. Did you start up another thread? I really hope you get the advice you need and things work out for you. xxx

Yes, have started a thread and emailed George Lombard, not sure whether we can appeal against it? Going to see what advice we get and whether it means applying all over again, its so frustrating. for the sake of a few weeks!! Have spent the morning looking to see if I can apply in my profession?

not a good day in this house today.......................:arghh::arghh::arghh:

  14. oooooooh That's awful! I'm so sorry for you! :arghh:

I have no advice except what others already said and that is to ask an agent. I do hope you will find a solution

I am devastated and dont know if we can appeal, we were all set to apply earlier but had to wait for my new passport to be returned, cant believe that our dreams may be shattered for the sake of 4 weeks, :arghh: if OH only had 6 months aussie work experience I could understand, but in fact he has 17 months, !!!!!
