OK Guys, thanks for all the words of encouragement, unfortunately I cant update Tania's first post so have started a new thread:
If we could start using that for updates, that would be great....
An idea, if the guys who have already got their visas want to carry on using this thread, once anyone has their visa they can start using this thread to keep everyone up to date on house sales, flights etc....

I didn’t cos I’ve got my visa and will soon be moving as well.
Maybe we could do a cat 4 the sequel or cat 4 where are you now. Just so those that have visas and are moving can discuss and let people know how you’re getting on. We could keep it on the cat 4 thread but there is nothing worse than Yerr lets meet up for a bbq on the beach under the scorching sun, when you are sat in the front window of your house franticly checking the visa application while watching the rain batter the for sale board.

Onshore or Offshore?
In your earlier post you say they are allocating Cat5's and are processing the Offshore ones first and then in the recent post you say Onshore.
The only reason I ask is that depending on which one it is, could affect Cat4 allocations, as far as Im aware Offshore processing is done in Adelaide and Onshore is done in Brisbane, I may have got that the wrong way around?
I think this was just to update that onshore cat 5 has started getting COs. They will still update as per schedule either next week or after a fortnight. -
The release they made on the 9th December was not inline with the normal fortnightly updates, so I dont think we'll use that one for our predictions game. Question is will they release another one at the end of this week/start of next week or will we have until after Christmas
No one of us seems to have got the correct prediction date as DIAC has updated it till April 30 only :mad: -

I just seen a status update on my file. Helath requirements have been finalized today. However I dont see any update on the status of the other documents. Does this mean I have been allocated a Co???? I front loaded my medicals a week and a half ago. I havent received any email or anything of that sort.... Really confused.... My meds were the uploaded the last..... This doesnt make sense
I don't think it means you have a CO yet as I had my medicals last month and mine have changed to finalised. Good news is that your medicals are all passed. Some case officers don't bother updating the status of our documents. Did you also front load your PCC's.? If so you may not get any contact from your CO and could get a direct grant.

Your application may be batched to a team that possibly running slightly slow...some teams seem a lot quicker than others, especially team 2....if you look at pumpkin30 and jimithechew on the spreadsheet, they are both June applicants and both have CO's from team 2

I have been seeing a lot of June applicants geting CO's... Should I worry... The DIAC update indicated a completion of CO's being allocated to applications until 28th April....I am just a few days away..5th May...No news for me... My agent sayd that they must be performing some verifications/checks and although you may have been allocated a CO, the department may just not update it.... however he will be sending an enquiry coming Monday.... -

Tend to agree, didnt the recent release about getting Cat 5 application allocated say there were about 2000 applications since July 2011, and they were allocating approx 1000 week?

I think the wording of the heading is just a bit confusing.
The column shows how long it has been since you logged your visa....so in our case it has been 23 weeks and 6 days since we logged our visa application.
The idea of the column is to see how long people have been waiting for a CO.
Hopefully you should see a trend, if you look at Feb 2011 applicants it was taking mid to high 30 weeks to allocate a CO, in March 2011 its Mid to Low 30 weeks and in April its High 20's....
So the trend seems to be people are getting CO's at a quicker rate...

I paid £1800....
I think it was a good decision to go without agent in our case. After doing lots of reading I found that the process was pretty straight forward. And we saved a considerable amount of money this way....But I can imagine that there a complex cases where an agent might really be useful.
BTW: How much does an average agent cost? Until now I only heard rumours that they charge something in between 1000 - 3000 USD
