  1. Hi Going for a regional visa and looking at Mandurha. Was hoping as my wife is the main candidate I could work in Perth for more money but that is not the case. Say we both got jobs in Mandurha. What's the lowest realistic wage we could both earn combined to live comfortably. 45k each ?? My wife is Hairdresser and I am in residential sales here in the UK. Any advice would be great Jason
  2. Hi, Thanks I had thought of that but think I will stick with my orginal plan just need to rule out me working in Perth or Rockingham. Works out better as cuts out a whole of travelling. Even happier now. Thanks Jason
  3. Hi. Ok I was thinking as my wife was the main applicant she would have to comply with that but as a dependant I would not be restricted. I could work one year regional and after that could travel further afield if need be before applying. Jason
  4. Oh About the regional comment. I thought that as well but on the 1119 booklet it states that if sponsored by a relative the whole of wa is regional if sponsored by the state it does not. Jason
  5. Hi Thanks for the replays, I would be travelling yes but my wife who is the main applicant needs to work regional. Think I agree about Mandurah having more to offer though. Jason
  6. Hi, I was looking at that, however looking around the east side of Perth to places like Byford is only 37k from Perth and had a main train line but what's it like. Want be somewhere nice and also having good amenities. Catholic school for my daughter and a good standard of living. Mandurha looks nice but I might have to travel to Pertj for work and it see quite a distance to travel daily, Jason
  7. Hi I am hoping to go to WA but looks like I have to go regional. What's the closest you could get to Perth for jobs but be living regional. One more thing. When on a 489 visa do you have to live and WORK regional. Thanks Jason
  8. Hi, I at first selected any state. I then thought if I was at the other end I would be tthinking I want to select people who want to come to this state not any state so I went back and changed it to WA only. I am now glad I did . Jason
  9. Hi How do you know first invites are not till August. Saves me checking every 2 seconds. Cheers Jason
  10. Hi Yes it's my wife who is the main applicant. Jason
  11. Hi Completed our EOI last night and are number 33000. I first put any state but went back in and changed it to WA only. Now we cross our fingers and check our emails constantly Jason
  12. Hi Never thought about this but SkillSelect is going to be my new addiction. Filled in an expression of interest last night. So now I feel compelled to check emails and log on to see if anything has happened. This can stay on the database for 2 years and not be invited. For some this new system is going to be agony. Jason.

    New SKILLSET!!!

Yes the 1st of July changes
  14. Hi, I read the DIAC website a lot, but cant find the answer to this. If we got regional state sponsorship, Can you kickstart your visa by going else where. We are going out to Kiama NSW on holiday in December but if we got a regional visa for WA before then would the holiday suffice in starting the Visa, Thanks Jason
  15. Hi All The new SKILLSET does not seem that bad really does it. I think they have made it easier for certain people mabye made it harder for others. They could really streamline the whole experiance and I get the feeling that if you get invited to apply and you have the points required then it would take the police clearance or medical to fail you. Might just be wishfull thinking but I feel quite happy about the new changes. Jason
