Your new passport will have the same ID number & personal details - just the dates are extended- & it will be recognised electronically when you travel, so no problem.

sorry- I meant Kath

Hi all
I did this youtube video on the CPV a couple of years ago.
It is still relevent though and the current visa prices are in the description.
Hope you get your visa. Mine took a while but I believe it is quicker these days.
Peewit
This would be very useful indeed if the waiting times were up to date. Does anyone know what the wait is on the 804 currently please?
Caro - the link to the queue calculator is still showing unavailable- so no it's not just you

You still don't pass the BoF as your partner has 3 children, (I remember you asking earlier in the year so I checked back ) He's still "got" children even though he hasn't seen them for however long. So that's 4 between you & only one in Aus? Plus you've presumably got a living history together by now such as shared finances, so there's not going to be an easy way of calling him a "friend" instead of "partner" unfortunately! Nice try though!
There is a roundabout way of sponsoring a partner later- but it's discouraged by the fact that you couldn't sponsor him for 5 years after you got a Parent visa anyway- so you'd be apart all that time. But it's a no-go anyway since you don't satisfy the BoF..sad but true. I take it you couldn't get around the Business type Visas?

look up the Instructions for panel Physicians, there is a section on eye conditions....I have a similarly long-standing & rare eye condition which will automatically lead to a referral of the medical, & found this at least a little reassuring, as where there is no known cure there cannot be a corresponding cost which would make your OH a liability to the Aus government it will be the long-term implications that will matter though- so it would be as well to obtain a thorough report from his current specialist as to his functional capacity- as this is what his referral will need to cover.
-
You're being processed  nothing we can say to you other than that really- the last bit of waiting is probably the worst , but if you're confident you've supplied everything necessary to prove your case then it's simply a case of waiting.......
-
Nobody here can tell you definitively if your documents will be "strong enough"....as Rupert said the best person to advise you is going to be a MARA reg'd agent. That way , you will be in no doubt about the level of evidence you need to provide a strong case for dependency. There are several agents on here who post regularly- have a trawl through the Parent visa threads.

I don't know much about this, except that you apparently need to have medical insurance in place before you get the 457 grant, even from a country with a RHA. Once you register for Medicare though, you can drop the extra cover. That's what I've read. However, you will need to contact Private health insurers for info re. your child as that's a very specific situation, & even if they allow you to register her I think there's a waiting time for claims even after obtaining private cover. Could prove to be a dealbreaker for you unless you get it right. Use google.au for that.
This will at least bump you back up to the top so someone with more knowledge might be able to help though.

Yours is probably about right given the cost of the visa!

I have a question regarding the extension of 2nd final payment for CPV. Can we ask CO for extension/delay payment and does Case Officer make a decision or give up the visa place to someone else? please advise. Thanks
Hi Manzoor- I'm pretty sure I read of someone getting a short extension to pay under very particular circumstances- but I don't think they'd give you long- after all they expect that you know the payment is due once your PCC & Meds are in order.. Is it possible that your children can help you out with this rather than risk losing your visa?
-
yes that's what I would say about the Parent visa - great if you had a successful outcome for your own visa , but really for a Parent visa you will not need an agent. It's pretty simple as long as you use the checklists carefully.
-
Ah the stress! Congratulations for getting there in the end
-
Congrats on your visa  I have actually had these guys recommended to me too by someone else who's spoken with them for an initial consultation. Good to hear first-hand success stories!

I worked for wolves council as well, very sad, 1000 jobs to go, I am sure the council is probably the biggest employer in wolverhampton so its going to have a big knock on effect. The town centre is already half closed down, the redevelopment that was supposed to save it abandoned. I hope your daughter escapes ok, I really like Bantock house
most of them are being met voluntarily- I know several people just waiting for the best deal they can strike! I got out of the LA years ago- & the financial wastage has always been at an appalling level. They've totally sliced the top off the LEA management free-for-all; about time too. Shame for those who lose jobs always, but essential services seem to be pretty safe- from the ones I've spoken to anyway. And I know 2 people who got LA jobs in the last month- so not all doom & gloom.
I can't see much wrong with charging people to use the internet in libraries for instance- you wouldn't get it free at home.
Not all bad in Wolves, although the town centre is dire I have to say. I live by Bantock & it's a lovely area . Glad the move was good for you Wolvesaussie!

you seem to be pretty aware of the Balance of Family requirement, & there's no way around that I'm afraid. I think you will need to think seriously if he is so dependent on you whether that will affect your decision to actually go ahead with the move. The other children are of course very much part of the equation as far as DIBP are concerned.
have you sorted your own visa yet? He would of course be able to do the regular 3 month visitor visas, though how often you'd want him to be doing that in his 80's is questionable! ( & childcare at that age? :swoon: he has my admiration- hope I'm getting a rest from it by then! )

Thanks Freesia. We are in two different boats then, although paddling in the same direction. I can't seem to find out the info you do, what's your secret?! I rely on Chireckles for mine. I suppose the 103 doesn't appear on the site.
Carolyn
Unusual situation for me, so I have had to a lot of research...& finding out more & more as I go along  have tried asking agents on forums, but I think they're quite aware that I need specialist info so have all been pretty cagey with me! I'll get there though.....

I have to say our last three house moves took 15 months or so, but we were hoping the market had picked up. We live in the South East, but I expect each area is different. Cheeky question, you might not wish to answer it!! When are you expecting to get your visa Freesia? Can't locate you on the Chireckles site, which doesn't seem to have moved again for a while. Perhaps DIAC do things in batches?!
Poor you Maureen.
Regards Carolyn
well because of the need to sell up before I can afford the 143, I have applied for the 103, then I can at least get longer tourist visas if I need them. Therefore I won't be expecting any progress any time soon. I'll then just swap over when the time's right. The latest 143's have been 14 months though & at such cost that seems about fair to me- any longer would be a darn cheek!
-
nightmare & exactly what we all dread- hope things work out soon
-
oooh that could be a couple of years- mine's on now- this is the worst task for me, it's always such a long drawn-out business even if you sell fairly quickly. If you benefited from the last boom as I did, consider yourself lucky & don't bank on it happening again. That's my philosophy anyway (since I can't be doing with renting it out !)
-
stay optimistic one more year & you'll be off !
-
people are getting the 143 in closer to 12-15 months surely? that's the DIAC estimate anyway ...not heard of anyone waiting anywhere near that long !
-
You've got that about right actually, though it's obviously not what you want to hear ! Additionally though- the sponsor will need to be a "settled" permanent resident (generally assumed to be around 2 years after grant /arrival in Aus) before she could even apply. There are visitor visa options of course.
-
Do you mean 3 have PR or Citizenship & the 4th has a 457?
The parents need to pass the Balance of family test which you seem to be aware of -get them to read the Parent Booklet 3 from http://www.immi.gov.au/parents which will give you an overview of the Parent/Aged Parent visas. If one of your parents is over 65 & onshore visiting you, they are allowed to apply for the appropriate visa yes.
If not, they will have to sit it out offshore & use the longer visas for visiting family while they wait.

Hi Summerdaisy
I recently applied to convert my 173 to a 143 permanent visa. I believe the second instalment is $16,885. I agree with Freesia the visa pricing table takes some studying! I think we come under 19j (i) on the table which reads... The second instalment (payable before grant of visa) "Applicant who was the holder of a subclass 173 (Contributory Parent (Temporary)visa) at the time of application" it then gives the price of $16.885...I'm praying it isn't $29130... good luck!
What have you paid so far ? the thing is, the 143 is well over $40k now, so the 173/143 is going to be at least this amount.
Hi everyone! I am who you think i am and I'm in Austraia!!!!!!!!! :)
