  1. Hi All,

Posting this for a friend who wants to move to Oz with his family. I have looked on the SOL for Farm Manager (hes been one for 10+ years in the UK) and found nothing. Do you guys know if:

    1. Farm managers are ever on the SOL

    2. Can Farm managers get a 457 sponsorship?

    3. If no to any of the above, is there any possible route over here, or is it just a case of not required, therefore no chance of getting over here.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Kind regards

    JTC

  2. Hi guys, thanks for the replies,

@ Oz, We looked at the FIRB, but for some reason couldn't make heads of tails of it, will look again.

@newjez, I think the tax office will ask where a large sum of money has just appeared from... but yes this was a consideration! would surely have to pay tax...

  3. Hi all,

I understand anyone can purchase a new build if you are not a resident, but my question is:

the MIL is over on an aged parent visa (804) with a waiting time till processing of 356 years.

Is she able, in some way, shape or form, able to buy an existing (2nd hand) house?

I fear the answer is no.

    Any advice welcome.

    Cheers

  4. In regards to services, I wouldn't say they are creaking I would say they have cracked.

It doesn't help that only a few years ago (before I left the UK) I saw a doco on people who were trying to get off the rock n roll and they were actually better off on the sausage roll then doing a minimum wage job. Which lefts face it is really all they will be able to get until they work there way up. I believe parents have a lot to do with it and once a kid gets into their mid to late teens its generally too late to try and put them on the straight and narrow. Thus the circle continues. Why would you bother to work if you don't see your peers, parents and grandparents not working?

In regards to why London is heaving:

You do know why Dick Whittington came to London... That still applies to this day.

  5. My Mrs was actually going to go ahead with the kids and I was going to follow 3 months later. As the Gluten Free organic free range bread winner, I wanted to stay behind an finish a landmark job that had started for my old company (It would have stood me in good stead in Oz). Then I was going to come out about 10-12 weeks later.

However I had no job lined up and while the Mrs wanted me to do whatever would be best for the family we both agreed that I had to come out at the same time as its not fair for her to make that journey herself, let alone start up anew life for us! I had no job lined up when we touched down only interviews (two the next day). It took me two months to snag a job and while it was nice having two months off with the family, it was also rather stressful as it is ultimately and unknown timeframe.

Good luck either way and my opinion would be go together if possible.

    Cheers

  6. Ive been offered a job in Sydney with sponsorship , but in comparison to my current role it does not compare well in terms of benefits .. ie paid holidays , sickness pay , life assurance and hours of work , salary slightly better though .

It has taken a lonnnng time to get to this stage .

    What would you do ? [emoji20] [emoji33]

I think you have just answered this yourself.

The money is better for less hours.

Not sure why you would look at the sick pay as anything other than a bonus? are you off sick much?

20 working days for annual leave is standard

36 hr working week sounds less than civil servants!

    3 on 4 off.....

I'm not sure what's there left to discuss, if you have gone through all this rigmarole and now you have the job offer you should take it. Stick it out for a couple of years then seek new employment if there is the opportunity. Though you state you field is specialist so options may not be in abundance...

  7. Hi @BobPetairUK ,

Looking to bring the MIL and dog out to Perth, Though I need your help with bringing out the latter.. (Yes a comedian of a Son in Law I am...)

The dog is currently in London and we are keen to know the process so we can get the ball rolling, please can you let me know what services you offer and what the time frame is plus costs.

    Many thanks

  8. Hi all,

Long time no speak to some.

I'm having an issue trying to actually find and fill in the Aged Parent (non contributory) 804 form for the MIL on her "immi account" page.

Below is the 804 on the immi website:

    http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/804.aspx

Which states "Apply here" but all that does is take you to the fillable in PDF, which you can fill in and save onto your desktop (but not the actual immi account page)

My issue is, once we have logged into the Immi account there is no where to actually find and commence the 804 form. the only options available are the most common ones. (you can click find visas but all this does is take you to the homepage again....)

Does anyone know how to get round this issue? I assume immi are making it tough to actually do as they will (I'm led to believe) be closing this visa option soon (again).

I also note that you cannot commence any of the parent type visas online (in your immi account).

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated, i'm going mad and the clock is ticking....

    Many thanks

  9. Visa Approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:wink::wink::biggrin::laugh::cool:

Woke up blurry eyed, check me emails and!!!!!! POW there it was.

    Cannot believe it.

Thanks for all the advice and help folks.

Good luck to all you waiting,

7 months to the day since we lodged our visa!!!

  10. This is the area we are worried about my son has very mild cerebral palsy and receives very little treatment. But we r not sure how this will effect the visa. The agent said if they ask say everything is fine. I am having my duobts!!

I would tell them every major thing that has happened to you or your kids, I understand where is coming from by saying tell them everything is fine but you cannot lie, the consequences could be catastrophic.

    Honesty is the best policy!

the misses has had her meds referred (as we suspected) and today they were finalised...though were not sure (until our CO updates our file) if its pass or fail!!!!!

    Good luck

  11. fingers crossed, my misses meds have just been updated by HOC, they are now 'finalised' though I don't know if passed until our CO updates the visa app, once thats done then I believe we should have our visa.....:wideeyed:

  12. Had ours on the 31/12/11, they had blood results the next working day, uploaded all our stuff. mine and the 2 nippers have had our medicals passed/approved/met, however the misses has had hes referred, (a pre existing condition) :frown:

its been a few days now and nothing, not even an email from HOC letting us know the latest, or indeed exactly why (though we have a feeling why)

    Am nervous for sure,

    meds cost us about £620

    and 2 hours, 26 minutes parking cost......£33 !!!!

Well it was next to 'Harrods' but still £33!!!

  13. I think it's only for 176 applications you have to have a certain amount of savings

Hiya, we never got asked for proof of money etc... was surprised, tho they wanted to see my sisters bank account/savings. Think they were happy enough!
