Hi,
We have LG as well and I also called her on Wednesday morning, she said that they were processing February's at the moment but ours which went in on the 23rd of March may be officially approved by the end of this month but should definitely be by mid-August. It's been a long nail-biting journey and I totally empathise with other POMSINOZERS and good luck to all of you.

Wow, really? We were assigned CO 28 March and have been repeatedly told mid Sept. I know that's the official line, but nice to hear that co's aren't all quoting it.

It's been a little quiet recently in terms of approvals hasn't it. Come on guys, send those chocolates and muffin baskets to get the queue moving!

I've had to take my kitty cat to be re homed today and I'm totally gutted. Just another one of the loved ones that I have to say goodbye to so that I can join the other half over in oz. Tell you what though it was a close call between me staying here with the kitty and going over with him...a very close call.
Australia better be worth it all.
Just hope that they get a move on with the visa now, its too quite in the house with out her here.
Oh Tillyloola,
I know what you're going through. We had to rehome 3 of our pets as they are too small to make the journey and the next day one of the children told my son that it had died during the night when it hadn't. Keep strong and know that we're all doing this together and are here if you need to sound off or need a shoulder

We lodged ours in person on 26/04, assigned AB 04/05.
If it follows the full 6 months for us, it's too late to use our aussie holiday this year as the initial entry and we'll need to arrange another trip before may next year (medicals and police 9/5).
I'm encouraged by the fact that quite a few people that have had AB, have received theirs in about 4 months. We are in Oz for 3 weeks so even if it's 5 months, we can still nip across to NZ for a couple of days and come back!
Are your flights booked for your permanent move?
If it was 4 months we would be SO happy that it would make all of this worth while. The flights we have booked are for the permanent move and the dates chosen to ensure the children didn't miss too much schooling (our daughter is jumping up a year and the longer she's in the UK the more she misses out on). One way tickets too, so hubby can't even enter on that ticket. It's a fine line and a big gamble but needed to be done.
I've spent this morning cleaning garden furniture, tools and spare bike wheels with Jeyes in the hope customs will pass them, but am beginning to think I might need a toothbrush to be really effective! Furniture leaves 3 weeks today!

Hi, we have AB - so far he's been brilliant, responded to every one of my wife's emails within hours of sending. He has our travel dates (for oz holiday this year - moving there next year) so knows that we had planned to use this trip to 'validate' the visa. Hasn't told us anything other than the 5-6 months standard but has acknowledged that we'd like it before Sept! (we lodged visa 26/04).
Hi Aussiedad,
He's been very efficient, just not deviated from the 5-6 month line. He has our travel dates too, so he knows we'd like it before mid August but he quoted 5-6 months back to us and advised against booking flights - which we already had. We're not sure of exact date of lodging visa, but were assigned AB 28/3.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi,
We had him, he was very straight down the line and didn't give anything away... All we ever got told was 5-6mths wait
But we got our visa in 4months and 4days approx so it may come quicker than you think!
Good luck!
Thanks Bek7!
He's been giving us the standard line the whole way through and won't move on the 5-6 month angle so fantastic to hear he doesn't stick to it. We had bargained on 4.5 months and have been naughty and booked flights.:unsure::unsure:

Am I the only one on here with AB as a CO? Anyone else had any experience of him and can give examples of time frames. We've now both resigned, house sold, I'm applying for jobs out there but hubby's waiting until that visa comes through which would be 28th ish of August at the 5 months waiting mark. Can't remember exactly when the form was submitted but we got our CO 28th March.

woohoo! i cant believe it that's so fast! big congratulations to you!
Huge congratulations to you!!
Nearly made me cry as it means there is hope hubby can get his visa in time to come out with us!
-
Hi Enaish,
Yep there's been a few people recently who have been approved in 4.5 months- so fingers crossed for you!
By the way, if you've already sold, have you made it a condition of sale that you don't move out until Visa is granted? One of my worries is IF we do sell - that our buyers won't hang on until we are ready to move out/visa granted.
Tracy
Will PM you as it is slightly off the topic and don't want to bore poeple!

Got a phonecall from DP to say our visa (subclass 100) has been approved! I can hardly believe it and I don't think it has sunk in yet at all
I applied Jan 24th and it was approved June 10th. Hoping to head out in August.
Good luck to everyone else still waiting
Congratulations. 4.5 months would work very well for us. Hope it all goes well.

Hi Enaish,
We are going to Sydney suburbs (hopefully Hills area) depending on finances. What about you?
I see you mention 'schools issue' do you have children or are you a teacher? (we have 6yr and 2yr old girls)
I have given in my notice and finish end of August, the house is on the market - which we will have to sell before being able to move, so we have not booked flights yet.
Our C/O is WP, who's yours?
Fingers crossed they come through quicker than the 5-6 months!
Our C/O is AB. We're heading for Eastern suburbs of Brisbane. My daughter is 11 and going into year 6 this year and my son 9 going into year 3. I work in a school too, but the issue is that we weren't allocated a secondary school here and have now been given one some distance from us, so need to be in Oz well and truly before the year here starts.
Although I have handed my notice in, I'm lucky enough to still be paid until first week in September and our house has sold. My friend went to Sydney in Dec and her visa (same class as mine) was allocated in 6 days. How unbelievable is that. We had though 4.5 months given the website said 3-6 months and based on everything on here, so we're keeping our fingers crossed. Very pleased to see that someone got theirs approved today after 4.5 months so we may yet squeeze in.
Good luck with it all and keep us updated.

Hello to the ever increasing people on the March/April time line.
Our C/O asked for Meds last week and it's been a bit of a struggle getting a quick date. Maidenhead is our closest, but the soonest they could offer was the 6th May! Tried Knightsbridge instead and they said 28th March (lots of us wanting to emmigrate!) Today they rang to say they had space on the 21st. Hurrah!
Anyone else be there then??
Hi TracyC, you applied exactly same day as my hubby and was given exactly the same orginal date in Maidenhead for the medical but we were never offered an earlier option so went with 6th May
Where are you heading in Oz?
-
Hello,
I sent my application on 20/04/11 (front loaded), the money was taken on 02/05/11. I still have not heard anything from them. I thought it would take a bit longer with all the bank holidays but this is getting a bit silly.
Would you recommend calling? it cost me £15 for a 5 minute convo last time so I am rather reluctant!
If you're going to call make sure you get a skype account and add some credit to it. Calls are about 1.4p/minute. Very cost effective

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!! The waiting is nearly over.
Hi Amanda,
Who is your CO? We originally sent in forms 24/3 and had an email today saying all info received nothing else to do but would not be processing visa as back log and processing in order received. We've been told 5-6 months which means 24th Aug or 24 Sept. ALready booked flights, sold house etc, due to schooling issues but now no idea on whether hubby should resign and take the risk or wait arrrrggghhhhh!
-
Hi all,
We sent the forms on 24th March.
Contacted requesting photos and bank statements - sent 24th April (we were in Oz on hols when they asked!)
1st week May - police checks sent
2nd week May - medical taken (blood tests took two weeks to process and were only submitted end of May!)
Emailed case officer 7th May who said they had all the documents and infor required but would not be processing the application due to back log and are processing in date order recieved.
Have been advised 5-6 months which would take us to the 24th Sept. Unfortunately flights are already booked for 16th August... now worried:frown:

nearly wet myself laughing at these. My hubbie is hiding under the duvet. Don't get me wrong - hate spiders just find this so reassuringly funny!

Tell me about it. We're past the three month date but thought we'd wait until 4 months before contacting him again. Got a few issues with our house sale and then some tight deadlines so believe it or not, a visa is the least of our worries! Doesn't stop me checking every day though.
