  1. Hey I got my CO 12th February.
  2. My visa was granted 21st February delighted it's all been sorted. good luck everyone else
  3. The thing is i never game my diac reference number so i am not sure how they would match it up. I guess i should call medibank on monday to see what is going. Ive got all the outstanding documents now so im anxious to get it all to my CO.
  4. I received my medical results in the mail yesterday for 190 visa. Big bold writing was on it saying do not open. Do I need to send this by mail to my CO who is in another state? I'm a bit confused by this as I thought in most cases you email all attachments to DIAC
  5. I done my medical last Thursday, awaiting the results. I was allocated a CO today :jiggy: Applied on the 21st January. I just need to supply PCC and meds and i'm across the line hopefully
  6. I am already in Australia and I understand I can go and do a medical prior to being asked to do so by CO. Where do I do the medical. On skillsselect it tells me to do it in Ireland/UK when I click the link. Any advice is much appreciated :-)
  7. We are looking in the Mitcham/Vermont area. We viewed a place a couple of days ago and the agent has been on to my referees so hopefully that is a positive sign :-) Otherwise back to the drawing board. Thanks for all the tips guys
  8. Me and my partner have been looking for a 3 bed house in melbourne's eastern suburbs for the last month or so. We are expecting our first child in early April so we'd like a home established before our son arrives. So far we've applied for a few properties but have been unsuccessful. We have come across a number of instances where the houses have been approved prior to inspection. Are people seriously signing leases to houses they have not seen??The latest instalment occurred this morning, we went to see a house. When we turned up for the inspection the agent informed us that the house was leased at 9.30 this morning. We drove all the way to this location and the agent did not have the courtesy to inform people prior this. We've even offered to pay two months rent upfront. We are at a loss as to whàt we need to do to get a suitable house.I would appreciate any tips from people or agent recommendations so we can get a home asap? Thanks for reading
  9. I applied on 21st January. Also waiting patiently for a CO.
  10. Hi knowledgable folks, I submitted my 190 visa application last week. I should have taken more care when completing it but the only addresses I provided was my current Australian address and any other address I've lived in Australia. I did not provide my address from my home country. Is this a problem or can it be cleared up when a CO is allocated to me? I'm quite worried now that I've stuff up  Also as I am already in Australia I understand that I can go ahead and complete my medical prior to been asked to do so by a CO. I have tried to use the link on the DIAC website to see where I can do it but it directs me to doctors in my home country. Can I book this with Medibank in Australia? Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post....
  11. Hi Guys, I have received VIC SS :-) I am ready to submit my application before I pay the visa charge. I have a few questions which I can't seem to get SOLID answers online for, hope someone can help: 1. Do I need to get medicals done now or wait until advised to do so by CO? 2. How long are AFP police clearances valid for. Should I optain police clearance or wait until CO requests it? 3. Do all documents uploaded have to be certified such as skills assessment etc? The reason i ask is that the checklist says passport pages etc but not other documents. Cheers Adi
  12. It pretty clear really, the opposite being that we didn't get pregnant for me to get a visa we got pregnant because we actually want a child. I have a 457 visa not like I am a backpacker on a one year holiday visa! I was merely asking if there was another visa choice besides me going for ENS as I am afriad that the agreement I have with my current manager could be null and void so to speak if he left the company i work for.
  13. Quite the opposite in fact. Neither me or my partner are getting any younger and we both want kids so we are very happy that we conceived so quickly!!
  14. Should have elaborated. I do not have three years post qualified experience until October 2013 but by August 2013 I will have completed 2 years on a 457 visa. We have been together just over 2 years, we don't actually live together now but we will be moving in together in January 2013.
  15. Hey, Looking for some general advice. I am on a 457 visa, mother of the baby is an Australian citizen. I am wondering what my visa options are. Originally my plan was to go from 457 to PR via ENS, I am not entitled to apply until August 2013. The baby is due in May 2013. My fear is that the rules may change or my manager may leave which could put me in a predicament. Any advice is much appreciated.
  16. I am looking for a credit card that has rewards such as frequent flyer points or flybuys. I have looked up various comparison sites but there are hundreds of different cards and it is difficult to decide. The card will be paid off in full every month. Basically I am looking for people's personal experience of cards. All advice greatly appreciated
  17. Should have said i'm already in Oz on a 457 visa just want to feel more secure because I think there is a bit of uncertainty in Oz at the moment with employment so if i was to lose my job then i would be on the plane home to Ireland :-(
  18. Thank you all for your time in responding. I think reading is my main area of concern. I can read perfectly well but with the matching questions to paragraphs to me the answer is 50/50 and obviously i'm chosing the wrong one. Would you recommend me doing academic or general. I heard recently you need to get 38/40 for band 8 in GT and you only need 35/40 for AT, is this true? I think i am definitely going to do some work on this before I do my 5th and final test. My main worry is skilled visa rule change in July 2012 :-(
  19. Hi all knowledgable people, I am looking for some advice on the IELTS test. I come from an english speaking country, i've gone through the educational system up to degree level and completed professional exams. I've done the test four times now  My most recent result was today and once again it wasn't enough. I want to apply for 175 visa before new format comes into play in July. I need 20 points for DIAC therefore I need a score of 8 in each band. Below are my results so far: 03.09.11 L:8.0 R:8.0 W:7.5 S:9.0 (General Training) 26.11.11 L:8.5 R:7.5 W:9.0 S:8.5 (General Training) 03.12.11 L:9.0 R:7.5 W:7.5 S:9.0 (Academic Training) 03.09.11 L:9.0 R:7.5 W:9.0 S:7.5 (General Training) I would appreciate any advice. Clearly my reading is a problem for this ridiculous test but I can read perfectly well, the format of the exam is obviously catching me out. Any link to helpful materials online etc would be great. Thanks for reading, Adi
