  1. Congratulations videoland - good news to hear of visas being granted.
  2. Hi all, I had found the breakdown on another post on this site & just copied & pasted across. Unsure as to where there information came from. I'm not sure how the Other Family visa is broken down & also hope that we will get our fair share of the Visas.
  3. Hi all, Just found this on another post. Our Visa class has increased by 35 (yes 35) places for the year 2012/2013. Here's hoping that this is our year. FAMILY STREAM • The family stream has increased by 1585 places over 2011-12 (2.7 per cent) to 60 185 places. • It is comprised of: o 46 325 places in the partner category (compared with 45 400 in 2011-12) o 3850 places in the child category (compared with 3450 in 2011-12) o 1285 places in the other family category (compared with 1250 in 2011-12) and o 8725 parent category places, of which: ▪ 6575 are for contributory parent migrants (compared to 6500 in 2011-12) ▪ 2150 are for non-contributory parent migrants (compared to 2 000 in 2011-12).
  4. Last year the numbers were released onto the immigration website around the middle of May. Here's hoping thats the case & I agree am keeping my fingers crossed for an increase in numbers.
  5. So sorry to hear that lazybones 1987. Its difficult to stay postitive when the goalposts keep moving but lets hope some good news is around the corner. Is there no other options for you in the short term?
  6. I see from the above link that there is a mention of a temporary visa that may be suitable for me so that I can move to Australia whilst awaiting my LRR visa grant. Can anyone shed some further light on it for me please. How long does it last? Can you work on it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. The rules seem to be changing all the time. It is getting harder to remain positive!! I am lucky in that my application was in before 26/4/10 but we just can't predict whether the rules will change again before I get to the top of the queue. Thanks for the link though. Fingers crossed for all
  8. That is really disappointing. My understanding was that all Other Family Visas were treated the same as there could be a compelling arguement for each Visa. I feel like I'm on a rollercoaster, good news with extra no. of Visas & followed by news that most have already been allocated.
  9. Thanks very much for your post Derrick. Certainly gives me some hope of receiving my Visa in the next couple of years.
  10. Hi all, Just wanted to post my update for you. Had chased my CO regarding giving me an idea as to where I am in the queue (my queue date is 26/4/10 offshore). His reply was to refer me back to the DIAC website as he couldn't tell me. Has anyone else been told where they are in the queue as it would help to plan a little bit ahead & not put my life on hold whilst I wait?
  11. Hi all, As promised just wanted to update you regarding my recent correspondence with my CO on timescales. I've been advised that this year's allocation of LRR visas has been used up & I would now not hear furthe until the new financial year being July 11 at the earliest. So upsetting with my family being over there & I thought me & the kids would be there for Xmas but guess its just a waiting game.
  12. Thanks very much for your reply Alan. Can I ask whether you have any estimate of timescales for those of us who have applied so far? Do you think we will also be caught up in the 2 year +? Kind regards
  13. Hi Frizzy, I was also part of the original thread after putting my application in at London in April. I haven't heard any further news from my CO since the dreaded email advising that I was unlikely to hear any more news for quite a while. Would also be really grateful of any positive news anyone may have. Thanks
  14. Thanks so much for your reply Gill. Afraid I'm a bit on the mature side for a Working Hols Visa & did have one back in the 90s. I think it seems to be just a case of waiting & keeping my fingers crossed that there will still be enough Visas available by the time mine reaches the top of the pile. Just frustrating as meds, pcs & bond/sponsor all in place & I thought it was just a formality that it would be signed off & didn't appreciate the politics behind it. Think I just need to try & get on with life here in the meantime til the rubber stamping is done. Thanks again P.S. Frizzy will update on here once I hear further.
  15. Hi all, I applied for a Remaining Relative Visa through London in April & emailed my CO the other day for an update. He advised that the processing time has been considerably extended & I would not hear further for another 7 months at least. Having read this thread again tonight I am now greatly concerned that the wait could be years rather than the months suggested & with my whole family being in Oz this seems a nightmare. Does anyone else have any further thoughts? Thanks:sad:
