  1. Hello, I have recently moved to Sydney and have managed to secure a rental in Northern beaches. I am hoping to buy early next year and have been thinking about Central Coast due to the cost in Northern Beaches area. I was just wondering if anyone on here commutes from Avoca area to West Sydney (Smithfield) or the airport by car. I will be working from home some of the time but will have to commute to these areas often. I'm considering going on the train for the airport but it will be car for western Sydney as I have to visit different sites. I'm trying to work out if the commute is worth it, and how bad it will be. I'm thinking of leaving about 5:30 - 6:00. I have read it can get congested around Gosford. Any advice much appreciated
  2. I've been having the same problem but in Queensland. If anyone has recently completed the gap training in the Queensland please could they let me know where. I too have emailed RTO's but no luck so far. THANKS
  3. Thanks shazz, it does feel good. Yes telling people will be good especially as it is all we have talked about for 8 years. Think they'll all be amazed and relived we will finally be going.
  4. Yeeeeeees GRANTED I couldn't sleep last night sooooooo excited I dont know how I'm going to contain myself at work. Fredie, tina101 lucread, it won't be long they seem to be flying through them good luck Good luck everyone else
  5. O.K people I can't take it anymore. I have been reading this thread religiously over the last few months for advise and it has been so useful and calming at times, when I've been unsure what to do. Anyway I had to post because I am sooooo close and the anticipation is killing me. I have added my time line below, everything is done I'm just waiting for the GRANTED email now. Is checking your emails at least a hundred times, even though you know it the middle of the night in oz, too much? Eight years ago my partner and I had a dream to emigrate to oz, so I retrained and patiently gained work experience. I can't believe we are finally soooooo close, I feel sick :-)
  6. Thanks Mark I'll keep that in mind if I get a practical assessment. Which agent are you using? Good luck for you practical. Jen
  7. Hi Mark, Thank you for the reply. I am applying under Electrician (general). I am getting my final documents certified copied tomorrow so will hopefully get my application in the post this weekend. I haven't had any contact with FS so am little nervous to post. I'm going to get up early tomorrow to give them a call, see if they can confirm postal address etc. Its exciting to know you had a quick turnaround on the paper assessment. Good luck for the 28th. If I find any more information on the practical I will let you know. http://britishexpats.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=97 there's a couple of bits on here. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has completed the practical Jen
  8. Hi Mark, I too am applying to Future Skills, unfortunatly I can't help with the assessment, as i'm not at this stage, I'm just gathering my paper work to send to Future Skills International. I would be very interested to hear peoples advice also. On another note that I hope you maybe able to help me with. I have had trouble getting hold of Future Skills? all emails bounce back and I can't get an answer on the phone? Did you have any troubles? Where did you send your paperwork? What was the turnaround on your paper assesment? Sorry for all the questions and to jump on your post. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks Jennie
