  1. Hello, I also kindly ask for expert advice regarding my citizenship lodgement time. I got my PR in July 2014. I travelled to Australia in Dec 2014 (to validate visa and inform myself about jobs and real estate) but returned home in Jan 2015. I moved to Australia permanently in Dec 2016. Can I apply for citizenship now or do I have to wait until December? Is Dec 2014 (when I first entered Australia on my PR visa) my "Permanent Residence Date" and "Lawful Residence Date"? Or is it Dec 2016? Thanks in advance for a helpful answer.

Verystormy, thanks. Even before our final decision we've been checking available jobs for a few months, especially because Canberra is so specific and you need citizenship for a lot of jobs. And only after we've been able to find enough job offers at any time for both of us, we've decided to move. We are very down to earth and sometimes maybe even too cautious and prudent. We will now take some time to check both Adelaide's and Perth's job market and decide accordingly. Although at the moment I prefer Adelaide, since is not that isolated. Otherwise we've been to both cities and actually we liked both.

Flag of convenience, thank you for the advice Fortunately, I won't be the main money bringer in our family. It's just that I qualify for the visa easier

Debbio, Maggie2012, I still blame myself for not lodging my application sooner. But it is like it is and I have to accept that fact, whether I like it or not. Fortunately, my occupation is also on WA and SA list. It's just that I really liked the idea of living in Canberra. Maybe also due to the fact that I really made a good investigation about living there and it kind of grew on me. Well, I have to decide between Perth and Adelaide now and would appreciate your opinion about this dilemma. I console myself with the idea of living closer to the beach. Levi, my occupation is Community Worker and I wanted to move to ACT.
  5. Chris, thank you for your help. Unfortunately it looks my plan is going down the drain. My occupation is closed.

Cannot believe it. New list is out and my occupation is no longer on it. :cry: And I have just finished my commitment statement and found enough job adds. Cannot believe it. Confused, sad and angry at myself!
  7. Is there really noone who had 55 points and got that needed extra 5 by state nomination? Anyway, I've decided to apply for act nomination first and I plan to lodge EOI after I receive nomination. It seems like a safest way.
  8. I've finally got all that I need for nomination application. I get 55 + 5 points on Skillselect. Do I have to obtain ACT nomination first in order to claim those 5 points? Or can I lodge EOI without having those 5 points guaranteed? In which order did you run the process? At the moment I am looking for 5 job posts and trying to calculate the costs of living for a family of 4.
  9. I've just got my Test Report Form, where it says: "It is recommended that the candidate's language ability as indicated in this Test Report Form be re-assessed after two years from the date of the test." That "after two years" is actually written bold on form. But it really might depend on different applications' rules. Wouldn't know about that, sorry.
  10. I hoped I would also be one step closer. Got my IELTS results back and missed 7 in Writing by 0,5.
  11. Aren't IELTS results available on 13th day from the date of the exam? In that case results will be available tomorrow. I took the test on 16th and found about results online yesterday. Missed 7 in Writing by 0,5. Damn.
  12. As I know IELTS is valid 2 years. It doesn't matter what you need it for. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  13. Rangel & tht, congratulations!!! :ssign19: I've just found 5 vacancies and started to prepare commitment to Canberra statement and settlement costs.
  14. The Hughes Family, you are already able to see the finish line then. Congrats!!
  15. I had to talk about website I visited. I decided to talk about PomsinOz
