Hi everyone
My finance and I have both lived in Sydney for nearly 4 years - he is Australian, I am British. We plan to get married in the UK and I am having some difficulty finding out what exactly we (he) needs to do legally.
I have worked out that he needs to get a visa, which is valid for 6 months, that's no problem. My main concern/confusion is around the timing of everything - to give notice to marry do we need to have everything in place such as the visa, wedding booking, flights, etc? We will be in the UK in July and can give notice to marry then, but given our wedding is in April my fiance won't have his visa at this time, nor will we have the flights booked (we travel on airline "Staff Travel" so always last minute bookings).
Has anyone come across this before?
