  1. I am also very impatient! I want to be able to make the move asap instead of a more realistic 5 years time! Was thinking just the other day that I may have to make a trip to Oz for a holiday to get me through it!

  4. I currently work within Financial Services dealing with Complaince and Audit (wont bore you with details!) Haha I have a degree and diploma in Business and Finance, which I know probably wont be suitable for getting me a visa! Been taking some time to think recently of other fields I could venture into which may be more suitable for a job in Oz. In the meantime will keep saving as much as I can!

  13. Hi Nicola, Thanks for your reply - do you happen to know how long you can stay in Oz for on a 457 temporary visa? I am one of 3 children and one of my other brothers would also like to move over, so hopefully that could mean my parents could make the move on the parent visa eventually, but like you say it would be a very expensive option! Matt
  14. Hi everyone! I am hoping to make the move over to Oz in the next few years, I was discussing this with my parents over the weekend who expressed an interest in moving over themselves. My Dad is 56 and has worked in contruction since his teens. He is currently working as a Construction Project Manager in London and has a wealth of experience in the field. I know his occupation is sought after in Oz, but I know he is not eligible for a visa due to his age. Would my parents only option be to move over on a retirement visa (where I believe you can only work part-time) or is there any flexibility with the age on getting a permanent one? Your thoughts/opinions/experiences would be most welcome! Thanks Matt
  15. Exciting times! Have a safe journey and all the best for your new adventure!

  17. Hello all, Just been wondering about the likelihood of being able to head over to Oz on a WHV and whether I would be able to obtain a permanent visa when it runs out? Im 26, and wont be in a position to head over to Oz for a couple of years yet so just looking at getting some further info at this stage. I would love to take the opportunity of doing a WHV while I can, but it is my long term goal to move permanently! Your thoughts/experiences would be most welcome! Thanks Matt
