  1. Hi, Thats like 'The Million Dollar Question!' but sorry I cant really advise you on this as everyone is different so it wouldn't be fair if I listed off all my dislikes etc.. ...all I can say is I probably did more than most, over the last 4 years I have travelled all over Aus, I did every bit of research I could and spent a fortune in the process, I decided to settle in Adelaide SA on a PR visa, so thats where I am now but I am moving back to the uk in March. I was aware of many of the bad points in Au before the move so I had my concerns, but non of that mattered to me, its didn't matter what I read or what people told me, I just needed to make the move and find out for myself, just like many others that move here. I do have my own list of things I dislike about Aus, and like I said some of these I knew about before the move, others I have discovered whilst living here. My only advise is if you can afford to do it then give it a go, but dont assume you can stick it out no matter how bad it gets, and don't think it will be a walk in the park, (I hope it is for you) the place is not for everyone and for me its certainly not. Question:Would I have still made the move if I could turn the clock back 4 years, knowing what I know now??? Answer: Yes, because its been a great life experience and I feel that it was something I needed to do in order for me to move forward with my life, and what I have learnt from this is that I will now be content with my life back in the UK, and will never take my friends, family and good old Blighty for granted ever again. Its been an expensive adventure but like I say, if you can afford to do it then why not. Good Luck

  4. http://www.timmsrealestate.com.au/real-estate/property/4063446/22a-ferris-street-christies-beach I am moving back to the uk and therefore breaking my lease, the above link shows as 'under application' ignore this as it is an old link prior to me moving in last year, the house is available 26th March, I pay $440 per week and it allows pets as stated, gardener included in rent. Its a great house and in a great location, 5 minutes walk to the beach, the landlord owns both houses but built this one for himself so its much higher spec to next door. We have enjoyed living in the house. Its not shown on the photos but I have put up a fence in the back garden to stop by dog going on the lawn and ruining it, I have offered this to the owner. The letting agent is Timms. If interested contact Marissa ar Timms. Please can you give me some feed back if you contact them. Regards Chris
  5. Because Australia certainly is not for me, theres not much here and I've been everywhere but its all pretty much the same, I will be happy to return to my life back in the uk. Its now all very clear how the Australian and British Government are in cahoots with one another. I leave in March and no doubt my status will be removed in 5 minutes....
  6. Hi, I'm moving from Adelaide back to the UK in March, just wondered if anyone who has already or is about to do this can advise on a shipping company? I'm getting a few quotes as the one I've just had is over 40% more than what it cost to get here, good old Aus..! Thanks in advance Chris
  7. sorry, got to disagree with you on that one, Indian food is by far my favourite, both Pakistani & Bangladeshi, and I have eaten in many restaurants throughout the uk and also India, maybe you just went to the wrong ones..
  8. I'm with you on that, I have travelled to all states apart from NT, maybe thats where I went wrong lol.. I suppose its like marmite, you either love it or hate it
  9. thats because Australia is a complete rip off!
  10. Yes but you would still have to pay your rent until they find someone, you are also liable for the marketing costs and possibly any admin fees that the landlord would be charged by the agent, like a finders fee..
  11. Kerry Where are you living at the moment? I see you lived in Manchester, we lived near Blackpool...
  12. I understand with that...I'm not missing family at all to be honest
