Hey,

I am actually living with my partner who owns her own house in Tarneit about 3km from Werribee town centre. I would definatly recommend it to anyone. the surrounding area like Tarneit, Pointcook all seem to be up & coming & there are loads of new estates being built. Werribee itself has a train station - takes about 35 mins to Flinders St. Willy must be really expesnive for rental - my partner wants to move there as her folks live there but not sure we could afford the hosuing prices there. Just message me anytime - will try and give u as many details as i can. thanks andy

Hey Holly

I work as a Podiatrist came out on a 457 - then got PR earlier this year - now on a 176. Yeah, I agree the Western subrubs are the place to be - seems like the best time to buy. My partner an aussie brough her house in Tarneit 5-6 years ago and has already increased in value considerably. I am currently living with her but am hoping to buy in a couple of years. We then plan to rent her house out as I can use my first time owners grant. I think the process of buying a house here is slightly different to the UK - if you are a first time buyer in Aus you can get a first time home onwerns grant which you do not have to repay. I think it is something like 14k for new home builds or 7K old houses. Heres a link First Home Owners Scheme. I am going to post a question on the forum to double check - thanks

Hey Catherine sorry for the delay in my reply. I am not sure about schools as I do not have any children. I could ask my partner I am sure she would know. I know there are several in the area. I think .

Heres my email address so please email me with any quieries. Its andrewseago@hotmail.com. I will ask my partner when she gets home - shes actually in Rome at the moment - doing a tour of europe which she booked before we met. She will be back in Oz in 2 wks. So are you migrating or just coming over on a temp visa?

Anyway when you move to the area and get settled maybe we could all meet for a drink. I am always keen to meet new people - i have found since i have emigrated that my circle of friends has become much smaller. Anyway I would not change things for the world.

Anyway hope you have a lovely weekend and moving plans are progressing well.

 6.
Hey please can you help me. I am currebtly in Australia on a 457 visa - i am a podiatrist so hold a good profession. However, I have just applied for a 176 visa and recieved a police caution in 2003 for streaking as a student - it came back on my police check - however i clicked that i had no convictions on my police check - but it came back with that on it. I ticked the no box but explained about my caution - i also had a fixed penallty notice in 2009 for being drunk and disorderly - this was out of character and just had to pay a fine. Again this was not a criminal conviction. I never mentioned this when i applied for the 457 visa - is this likely to affect me. I saw your details on a post with reagrds to cautions.
