hi james, my assment in March.........getting ready. can i expect any Q's fron convertion table.viz. Inch to cm, Km to Mile,Mtr to foot...etc? anything from earth testing methods? do i need to write the procedure of wiring n' testing of it? should i indicate the terminal numbers of DoL like... 95-96 for overload trip..etc? regards, esthapan.

hi james, knoking ur door again! can i use a neon tester for testing for live? if there is no proving unit can i use a test lamp(2 bulbs in series)? if there is no known earth in the vicinity can i use a wire running from earth spike to equipment? can i draw contol and power ckt seperately for DOL/star Delta? can u tell me the location of Db, mcb,outlet,lamp in metal cond. wiring? from where i take the earth terminal?should the earth conductor run outside the conduit? can i expect any Q's abt capacitors/illumination? regards, esthapan.

hello james, hw r u?thank u for ur reply. what kind of occupational hazards sparkies face?only electric shock n' electrocution?are any other occupational hazard involved? does the assessor ask abut magnitude of current which causes shock effect,burns,ventricle fibrilation, fatal current and its path (i mean between arms,left arm to left foot, left arm to right foot..etc.)? can i expect question about Residual current devices? what is the maximum pemitted leakage current and minimum insulation resistance of an installation? any question about classess of fire extigushers? artificial respiration n' first aid? regarding varification of Ohms law- hw to do it?just by measuring the current n' voltage calculate the resistance? regarding wiring-were u given PVC pipes or mild steel pipes for conduit wiring? did u do teak wood batton wiring?in that case on type of switch board used?PVC or wooden? plz help. regards, esthapan.

hi james, thank u very much for ur reply.i appreciate ur move to help au. job seekers. some more doubts plz explain; 1)do i need to carry tools(including drill m/c) at the time of prac.? 2) what about PPE? protective shoes r with me.but i don't use apron,glouse and safetyhelmet.is it necessary to carry the said items? 3)does the assessor asks me anything about Au. wiring,safety standards/reg.? 4)we use the term earth fault Circuit breake(ELCB ) in place of Earth fault Circit Intereptur(IFCI).which term i should use at the time of prac.?ELCB or EFCI/safety switch. 5.WHAT IS LOCKING DEVICE?is it a pin used for locking the MCB's?can i use metalic pin? 6)does he ask about the current capacity of cables and contactors? 7)what about electronics?testing of componets and construction? hoping my q's might not irritate u:biggrin:, regards, esthapan.
