  1. Anyone recommend NBN provider? They all seem to have bad reviews and I really don't know who to connect with. Thanks Emma
  2. Thanks Zoe, I have seen HCA advertising for casual positions on the Sunshine Coast so I will give them a call. Thanks again Emma
  3. Thanks for your response, I'm a general Registered Nurse with a medical and surgical background. It's just good to get recommendations from other nurses. I've had bad experiences in the past from joining inadequate agencies. Thanks again
  4. Hi does anyone work for a nursing agency on the coast or can recommend any to join? I arrive next week and just want some casual work with an agency initially. Thanks Emma
  5. Thanks for your help, I will take a look
  6. Hi can anyone please recommended a good phone provider for sim only deals? Without contract. We need to find rental accommodation when we arrive and need regular access to the Internet. We are staying in Caloundra, if that has any effect on the 4G service. Thanks
  7. Thanks so much for your responses, I appreciate your help.
  8. Hi we are looking for a place to stay for around 3 weeks at the end of May. I have been recommended to book with Caloundra Holiday Centre. I have received an email saying that they don't provide any bed linen or towels. You can hire it at a cost of between $18-25 per week with a $8 delivery fee. Which seems quite expensive to me. Just wondered what other people do? Can I buy quite reasonably priced linen when we arrive? Not sure there will be any room in our suitcase. Thanks
  9. Thanks for your response, I have decided just to pay it. Like you say it would be expensive if not.
  10. Hi we are using John Mason for our move to Australia. I notice there is a fee of £15 for container decontamination, did anyone take this option? Thanks
  11. My partner and I have decided after 5 years of living in Australia it's time for us to go back home to the UK. I'm really not sure about what to do with our super accounts? To be honest, I've never really understood it totally!! I know it's not possible to claim it back as we are permanent residents. I'm just unsure about the best way to manage it now? Any advice would be really appreciated
  12. It would be peak hour travel and on public transport. Now my partner has got a job in the CBD he really doesn't to travel anymore than 45 minutes door to door.
  13. Hi now we have a 18 month old and our social life/needs have changed I would prefer a family area with a sense of community. I like to have access to shops, cafe's etc without going in the city. I find inner Sydney can be very busy and noisy and difficult to get round with a stroller at times. I don't mind being around 45 minutes to the city so if we want to visit its not that far to travel. It's more difficult now my partner will be working in the CBD because he doesn't want anymore than 40 minutes travel time. We want to rent a house and not a unit so need a suburb with that option. Thanks for your help!
  14. Thanks those suburbs sound perfect that's what I would like a place with a village feel. We have lived inner city in Sydney for 4 years and really want a change this time. I agree it's good to get a short term rental to use the time to search more areas and decide where to settle. I just don't want to get it so wrong I regret the move. Thanks again for your help.
  15. Thanks again for the great advice! I didn't realise the traffic would be a real problem before 7am. Hi Nats I will be working at HSNPH in Chermside. I will have a look at the other areas suggested I just don't want to live inner city.
  16. Thank you for all the advice! We will focus our search on the North side. I never thought about crossing the river. My partner has been offered a job in the CBD so we have to find the middle ground. I don't work rush our times which is lucky but my partner will.
  17. Thanks everyone for your help! I really appreciate it. Moving is so stressful and I just want to make sure we make the right decision.
  18. Thank you for your response. We will be renting at first and compared to Sydney rental prices Brisbane is much better! We arrive in 6 weeks so will have a good look around then. Emma
  19. Hi we have finally decided to move from Sydney to Brisbane but need help with where to live. I will be working in Chermside and would like a good suburb for families. We would like to live maximum 45 minutes out of the city. We would like parklands, shops, cafes and restaurants but not inner city and of course like most a safe area with low crime rates. I have seen Eaton Hills mentioned on other posts numerous times and plan to check it out when we arrive but any other suggestions would be great. Thanks Emma
  20. Hi we are moving from Sydney to Brisbane and would like some advice on the moving process please. We currently live in a part furnished property so we don't have much to transport. We would like to transport our car rather than drive it. Just wondering if anyone who has done the move can give us any tips or recommend any companies to use? Thanks Emma
  21. Thanks so much for your help! Any information is valuable to us.
  22. Hi I guess I'm just asking what other people think we should do or see on our trip to Brisbane which would help us decide if it's a place we would like to live. Thanks
  23. I would like to focus on where we want to live and hopefully find employment close by. I only work part time so if I have to travel further a field then I will have to get used to it.
  24. Thanks for your response this move is all about finding a place to live for my family where we enjoy living and which promotes convienience. Travel time to work is important but not as much as creating a desired lifestyle.
