  1. I been hearing its not allowed either for ages but I still see people posting photos on Facebook so they must do it some places in aus

They do it in WA at Caversham Wildlife Park

and in QLD at Australia Zoo

Due to NSW government regulations holding Koalas is not permitted in NSW

  2. I'm now wondering what info can be gained from SMS messages.

    Really?

You don't see how an 'innocent' text message asking what school you go to is not giving out information...let's say you are at school and answer the question

Reply:.....I go to ABC School in Sydney.....

Analysis...I now know the phone is active, I know what area you are from, what school you go to, what age range you are, and where you'll be Monday to Friday between 9 and 3

I have opened up a dialogue with you and knowing you have replied to that message and given out more information than you realise, it's almost certain that you will reply to more questions....

Harsh reality is, these texts could be from someone trying to groom you (or your kids)

  3. Glenda Jackson says she has had around 900 e mails or tweets. She has read around 400 she claims and only 10% were against her speech in Parliment.

Does this suggests 90% of the British public did not support Thatcher? Even I 'd have to admit highly unlikely. Of course with such an honest if attacking speech on the time and legacy of Thatcher it could have been expected the hate mail would have been pouring in.

Same answer as last time.....Unless you have run these statistics through a Chi-squared test to determine the significance of them,

then you can't possibly comment on whether the sample size is too small or not to draw any real conclusions from...

and just becasue she 'claims' that was the response, doesn't mean it was

Again you would have to analayse a sample to determine the significance of them, before drawing a conclusion

  4. Everyone is different, some go and never come back, some come back after 5 minutes

You will get the full spectrum of opinion on here, some are worth taking note of, some aren't

You will get some good advice on here about suburbs, houses, jobs, schools.....but no-one can tell you how you will feel when you get there....you'll have to suck it and see.

  5. Whats the "average"wage in the UK?Some ridiculous figure I expect.Someone told me what it was a while ago,and although I can't recall the figure,I do remember thinking I don't know anyone who earns that much!

    Average UK salary: £26,664

  6. The number sampled is too small to have any real signifigance.

Unless you have run these statistics through a Chi-squared test to determine the significance of them,

then you can't possibly comment on whether the sample size is too small or not to draw any real conclusions from.

  7. Well a survey conducted on such a wide spread of the UK population must surely end all arguements. 965 people in UK must surely speak for the other 60 million.

Afraid it shows nothing. Only fact being Thatcher was highly devisive.

Did I say it showed anything?

I said they were interesting stats.

They probably show as much as the stats in the IPSOS MORI poll....

it's called Sampling and is done to estimate the response across the UK or do you expect them to contact 60m people and ask them all one-by-one

  8. No it was a random poll like the one you posted...do my threads upset you..........

    hope so.

pp.s...how come you are on here 24/7

There is no need to have 20 threads on the same subject all running at the same time or starting a new one every time you find an article about how bad Thatcher was....

Post a link that shows me on here 24/7...been asking for it for a week now...but it isnt going to happen

  9. See my other THREAD...before the Falklands she was rated the worst ever MP

A number of events, commemorations and television programmes have recently marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Argentine invasion of the Falklands islands. Received wisdom seems to have it that the "Falklands Factor" was the political making of Margaret Thatcher, but data from the Ipsos MORI Public Affairs Archive says something quite different.

It is true that four months before the invasion of the Falklands, Mrs. Thatcher was the least popular prime minister in polling history and that after the invasion her approval ratings rose from 41% in April and to 56% in May. In June after British troops had taken back the islands Mrs. Thatcher reached a healthy 59% and while her ratings did slip back a little after then, the Conservatives still won a landslide victory in 1983.

I've seen it, you posted the same thing in here as you have in there....do you really need to start a new thread every 5 minutes.....

You should have a limit set on the number of threads you can start in a day.

Anyway in that IPSOS MORI Poll: Who was asked...how many were asked, was it working people, was it welsh mining villages, was it English mining villages.....

  10. Who was asked...how many were asked, was it working people, was it welsh mining villages, was it English mining villages.....I take this with a very big pinch of salt.

ICM Research interviewed a random sample of 965 adults aged 18+

As usual, No doubt you'll know better...

  11. Yep, from the bottom up they see her as a failure, it is only the council hose sales that pushed it higher.

50% thought she was good for the country and only 34% saying she wasn't.....interesting stats!

  12. Never mind trying to brush the question away,so he couldnt have said "what have benefits got to do with killing six kids?"(kinda thing)

Im not Osborne,he could of said a number of things....If you want to question my opinion on this then I'll just paste the link from last week, I gave my views on his answer last then, I'm not doing it again this week as I haven't changed my mind.

  13. What or who is bang out of order,me,why? i asked a question of you,is that ok?

Her first reaction(concern!!) on reading the Taylor Report was on how damning of the police it was,NOT how come the police never let 42 ambulances into the ground,or the missing cctv footage etc etc etc,you defend her all you want,i know where my loyalties lie

and I answered the question....you have taken it the wrong way....

  14. Anyone with half a brain wouldnt have allowed the question to go without saying "whats the statistical link between somebody killing six innocent kids and benefits claimants?"

Yet osbourne's pavlovs dog reaction was to more or less agree with the question, dress it up all you want, thats how it came across

Yeah we already had 2days of opinion on this last week....asked a loaded question, he said we need a debate...that's when the figures will be discussed regarding benefits & killing kids.....

  15. How old are you Stevie?what did you think of thatchers "concern" for the "police" in the wake of the Taylor report?you being a scouser and a Lpool fan an all

Old enough.....Bang out of order, if she was told SYP had lied in their evidence, which we know she had been, she should have opened an immediate enquiry and sacked the lot of them....in fact given that it was perverting the course of justice, they should have been dragged through the courts and jailed.

  16. Amazing that there are people complaining that the ones celebrating Thather's death are too young to know what happened......but are able to spout about things that they are too young to really know about either:laugh:

Amazing that the some of the ones celebrating Thatchers death are too young to know what happened..............but are able to spout about things that they are too young to really know about either

  17. It's not a theory. The census question is quite clear and asks for your ethnic background. That is not the same as identifying immigrants

The only "theory" involved is my one that 2nd gen onwards aren't to my mind "immigrants" any more. But it is a fact that those figures include people who are 2 or more generations down the track (the mixed race figures themselves are a pretty obvious clue), ergo, not everyone on those lists is a 1st gen immigrant. Fact.

Until you accept that, we can't really move on, can we?

Yes and I said the real figure is probably 1 in 6/7 then.....
