my family and I did the tests on the 4th dec 2018 , my kids and wife have the ceremony on Australia day, I do not know when mine will be so we have decided they will get citizenship and I will not as it will cause me to lose employment back in the uk ..

My documents were received by VETASSESS on 26th October 2011, however I have still not received a confirmation/ acknowledgement email from them on receipt of documents? Is there anything to worry or is it that sometimes they do not contact you upion receiving documents and will only send you the assessment outcome (say after 4 months)

I would send them an email querying this and saying that you have proof of delivery if you have-I went for a further additional skills reassessment around the same time and have already received it back as successful I got the confirmation email on the 10th of Nov!

Great to hear your news! You are not a loud guest, everyone has equal standing- have you joined the 176 -applied in August 11 thread, to post your timeline too? Can't wait to do this myself although it wont be Augusts one! Hurrah for you!!!

On my assessment letter it stipulated the degree I had was highly relevant to the occupation etc so I do not need an advisory letter for that part however with regard to work experience they only assessed 18 months of one occupation not all of the evidence i provided for different roles (12 years worth) so therein lies the rub I have to pay to get them to consider the rest of the employment experience to gain the points needed! I would also add that the employment experience they did assess related to a period of far more than the 18 months that they gave me credit for! Also as to get even the first level of points for employment experience you need to show 3 years eg 5 points then as you can see they have me over a barrel! I suspect that the advisory letter may not actually be needed and you could do the application to DIAC without it as you provide the same proof however as the experts who examine your skills and experience are supposedly at VETASSESS i would prefer this information to be backed up by VETASSESS before I apply given i have read some posts whereby people are said to have received notification from DIAC that they have over emphasized their work experience. In my case my current job title is not the skill I am applying under and neither does it fall into the same unit group (even though it is on the SOL and in the same sub group of ANZSCO) but it does involve using the relevant skills at the relevant level and assessment of this is a complex piece of work which I need to prove. I am feeling quite frustrated as when I got my original successful assessment I was ecstatic and now have met new hurdles and really wanted the VETASSESS era of my visa journey to be over!

When I applied they had just started to say it would take around 8 weeks! So given some say they have been told it could take even longer I hope this gives some hope as i didn't have grounds for an emergency request to hurry it up.

News Flash: successful assessment hurrah!

On Tuesday I finally had a response to my email two weeks ago by a senior and this merely gave info that was on the site saying they did not yet have a transitional application form for the assessments already lodged for points purposes. so they say you could use the main one on the site which is not an on line one yet, and suggest that some people may wish to wait to see if they had a positive skills assessment first however it did not mention my assessment was being processed nor did they copy anyone else into it!

I logged on this morning and it was still pending then got home and checked even though i had already and there it was in in bright green letters!

Only thing is i will still need the employment part of the assessment completing for the points test!

next step state sponsorship but first gonna update my status :biggrin:

Btw, they didn't email me I've just seen that my status changed online to successful - so for everyone who logs in everyday (Or like me nearly every hour) it's worth doing it!

Hello, have been following this thread for the last couple of months since my OH submitted his Vetassess application as an Urban and Regional Planner. His page has also changed from the tick boxes below to just saying Pending. So frustrating!!!

Doesn't help that they sent an email to the agent asking for a copy of his Bachelors degree certificate and transcript on Tuesday - this was included with the original application!:arghh:

The good news is this means they are actually processing yours then -that its not sitting in a pile fading in the sunlight lol :laugh:

Hi Guys, well my page has changed again -at the bottom it had tick boxes saying initial checking checking had taken place and no further info needed -these boxes have now disappeared and it just says application pending now- I wish I knew what this meant and whether they are working on my assessment at last?

Hello all, I am waiting as well to hear back from Vetassess!!

 

I sent my application in April with all documents and payment , I have emailed them a couple of times now to find out when my assessment will be completed and got an email back stating it will be October!!!

 

I then have sent in an urgency request form, which has been accepted, so am fingers crossed I will find out shortly.

 

I am with you guys this is so so frustrating, all the waiting, they originally said to me 12 weeks, and then added a further 10 weeks to the waiting time. It is outrageous.

Just logged into vetassess and I have the same change... pending and my docs initially checked. I really hope this means they're actually doing something

 

I chased them about the email we should have received by 10 July about new points test and no response yet.

 

I also chased about timeframes as it's now been 13 weeks and I have an urgency request accepted... they just sent a snooty response that I'd hear back in due course and I can check website for progress. But the lady had cc'ed someone else... maybe that's the person who is actually doing the assessment.... she's never cc'ed someone before )

Fingers crossed that they are actually looking at them for us....I haven't had a response to my email about the email we should have received either! Sounds promising though that someone else was named, is it worth you writing back and asking about the employment assessment for points purposes and if this is to be included too?

My Vetassess page has changed it now says pending and that my docs have been initially checked does anyone elses show a different format - i know they were updating the site yesterday - or does this mean they are actually doing it-gasp holds breath :spinny:

This is what they are currently saying with regard to transitional arrangements with regard to the new points test for those with completed assessments and those pending.

SRG35 Application for VETASSESS Advisory Letter for Points Test Purposes (VETASSESS

occupations) (available on our website under the Download forms section by 11 July

2011): For applicants who had either a pending Skills Assessment (including a post-485

Skills Assessment) as at 30 June 2011 or a Skills Assessment issued by VETASSESS before

1 July 2011 and now require an advice to give to DIAC for Points Test purposes for the same

nominated occupation.

Applicants who have received their skills assessment from VETASSESS may return to

VETASSESS for the optional advisory letter on qualifications and/or employment for Points

Test purposes. Please complete the new SRG35 form for this purpose which will be available

on the VETASSESS website by 11 July 2011. If you require additional qualifications and/or

employment listed on the Points Test Advisory Letter, additional fees applies based on the

type of qualification(s) and number of employments to be assessed. Information about the

fees is included in the form. If the qualification and employment to be listed for the Points Test

purposes, have already been assessed by VETASSESS please contact VETASSESS for

advice before you apply.

Applicants who currently have a Skills Assessment in progress for a GSM visa may wish to

request a Points Test Advisory Letter from VETASSESS to give to DIAC for Points Test

Thanks for letting us know- this is an unbelievable length of time to have to wait! I note that with regard to the new points test they are supposed to send those of us with imminent assessments an email detailing the new process for the different points awarded for qualifications and work experience by the 10th of this month - I haven't received one yet and as it is the weekend doubt I will get one by Monday!

I really hope things speed up. All these extensions to the waiting times are really unbearable - it can`t be good at the Vetassess office-I am imaging piles of paper work every where lol

This is unbelievable, we are not the only customers of this service either the states and Govt. are too, as they want skilled migrants with our skills allegedly. They are supposed to have made the process more streamlined when applying for a visa how does the capability of Vetassess fit into this?

I received an email saying that waiting times are still 12-16 weeks, cant believe it we did everything on line but still have to wait as if we hadn't oh well.

Has any one heard anything about the current waiting times for vetassess- fed up of waiting already?

anyone else had trouble getting on VETASSESS to check their application progress this weekend- I missed checking on Friday and now can't get on it at all!
