  2. just relax mate it really is no big deal , just brush up on inductance theory , theres a couple of questions on it in the theory exam, its a bit like the AM2 just not as involved, the assesors are good blokes and you get lots of time to get it done, from memory i had an hour to do my motor control =took 30 seconds
  3. we had ten hours to do our assesment , I was in and out in 4 and a half easy mate
  4. just clip the wires where they should go, you even get a drawing, peice of cake
  5. mate the best thing you can do is ring every electrical company and get any electrical work going dont wait to get your papers ,the whole process will drive you nuts ,if you need any pointers pm me

  9. Hi all im thinking of buying a new tester then bringing it to oz with me , what if any are the fundamental differences between the multi functional testers we use here and the ones they use in oz?????
  10. the tra wont issue an artc without a visa number , and an adress to send it to in oz
  11. i thought our mate toby said they were stopping peer veet from doing this (i may be wrong)
  12. you going to need to know how to wire a d.o.l. starter but they do give you the schematic, and how to connect a motor up in star and delta
  13. i wasnt allowed to take any notes in ,from what i remember ,somebody on here told me to brush up on resistor colour codes but that didnt come up
  14. fair point well made chris ,was just trying to say that nothing worth having is ever given on a plate . study is the way forward and just because somebody is a graded spark in the uk doesnt automatically mean they will be up to the mark in oz ,without a lot of hard work. simon
  15. cheers for the heads up mate , same as over here if a spark can,t answer questions on the basics should he be calling himself a spark,or be allowed too. how many "sparks" did you meet in england that couldn't work out two way switching or star delta motors?.
  16. i still have mixed feelings until i check it out for myself, was the AM2 hard? ,was the 2391 hard? ,when i did my 2391 the instructor tried putting the fear of god into us saying that 73% fail , personally think it was easy. so gonna reserve judgement until i sit it myself.
  17. when we were there about 5 1/2 years back it was really good, but looking on google earth since looks a bit built up . is it?
