<p>Hi Debbie, Good to hear from you. Perth was beautiful & hot for the winter! We arrived in Melbourne on Sat and hubby started job on the Mon, I found a house to rent on the Tues and we moved into it on the Sat! In between the Tues and Sat I had to furnish the house. Found a lovely school for Georgia - she will start Feb 2010... trying to sort her a kindy out in the meantime now. I think Melbourne isnt as pretty as Perth but is is lovely. You have to search out the nicer parts more, but there are loads of nice parts and they are beautiful. I think it may be just that MB is older and some areas, while wildly expensive, can look a little run down. Having said that it does add to the character! We are loving it. No regrets and no homesickness yet...although we do skype family every day! There are a decent amount jobs Matt specialises in, in Melbourne, wasnt much in Perth though. I suppose it depends upon what area you are in. Feel free to ask any questions. How are your plans going?</p>

<p>The guy saw his details on Linked In - not sure of specific web address but am sure you hubby will have heard of it. He just saw what sort of work Matt did and said he needed someone who specialised in this area... We were not looking for a move just yet but a good offer there couldnt be sniffed at! We sold the house in March so have no ties. Good luck with your house. In these difficult times it is fab you have interest. </p>

<p>I'm not sure which agency - he mentioned it is through EDS which are also in the UK too. He is snoring as we speak so figure I would let him sleep - it's been a very long day! What sort of work does your hubby do? Matt does Oracle BI work. Our visas took less than 5 months to come through so it may not be too long for you. We were unsure where we wanted to go. It was between Melbourne and Perth. We booked reccie to Perth to validate visas cos it is nearer to UK and so easier with a 3 and 4 year old but ultimately the job decided where we are going. As for areas to settle, Matt plays golf so we were thinking of somewhere like Sandhurst but have not set plans until we get there and see for ourselves where we fancy.</p>
