Hi John,

I believe it's 28th at the moment since KP Nuts said their car was off the road after this (see pg 1 of meet-up thread).

And no, not all the places I mentioned had houses for sale around the 450 mark. Quite a few of them but probably/definitely not Iluka,Mindarie,Hillarys,Scarborough beach, Burns beach, Redcliffe.

The areas mentioned are a combination of our favourite places to live in or within a reasonable driving time and at the least lovely places to visit.

To live in Sunshine Coast, we like Aroona and Little Mountain, someone we know has bought a house for $400,000 in Sippy Downs and they are very happy there. Narangba has lots of very pretty streets (Lilly Pilly etc) and we know other very happy people living here too.

To live in Perth, we like Butler, Yanchep, Caramarr, Tapping, Quinns Beach (possibly too dear), Somerly. Silver Sands or Medora Bay have pretty beaches too and are areas I believe have some good prices but we definitely prefer north.(Too industrial on south side).

Hope this covers it, just ask if you have any other questions and we'll remember to bring some paperwork for the meet-up.

Speak soon

Hi John & Lisa,

As promised but later than expected, here are our highlights of Sunshine Coast and Perth :

Perth - Kings park, Yanchep lagoon/beach, Two Rocks beach, Butler, Mindarie marina incl 'The Boat'(drinks a bit expensive though) and beach, Hillary's sorrento quay (lots there incl. food, aquarium, boats to Rottnest Isl.), Scarborough beach, Mettams pool, Burns beach, Ocean Keys shopping centre, Hogs Breath Cafe, Butler show homes, Sunset coastal drive (road near beach), Iluka suburb (expensive but pretty), Mandurah marina, Silver sands beach, Medora Bay and Perth city (especially near Swan Bells).

We didn't manage to see Rottnest Island but know its lovely so definitely going asap when we go back (Feb/Mar supposed to be a good time for it).

We found there was quite a bit of glass at parks near Mandurah beaches and the toilets were not as good as others.

Sunshine Coast - Caloundra, Shelly beach, Bullcock beach, Kings beach, Aroona, Little Mountain, Noosa beach (+ walk to estuary) and marina, Noosa shops look pretty with lots of trees, Moloolooba beach & marina, Montville, Palm Woods, Buderin, Redcliffe lagoon (outdoor pool), Narangba, Centenary Lakes (Caboolture),

We've heard Bribie Isl. is excellent in a 4x4.

Above are our favourites of both places. Obviously couldn't see everything but tried our best. We totally loved both Perth and the Sunshine Coast and we think both would be an excellent place to live.

I'm hoping to add lots more pics to our Perth and Brisbane photo albums on our page very soon.

Can u make the 28th's meet-up ?

We'll be there and bring some info with us.

Hopefully see you then,

Hi John & Lisa,

Hope you're both well. How's everything going there ? Just a quick update for now since its late and so could be likely to waffle. We've been back nearly a week but just getting round to replying to everyone. We had a brilliant time and found both Perth and the Sunshine Coast would be perfect places to settle. We totally loved both and are edging towards Perth slightly more, mostly because we always expected it to be Perth, work opportunities seem better for us and it just felt like it may be easier to fit in. The weather was a bit better in Brisbane. We still want to do more investigating. We've taken load of photos.

Are you edging towards Perth or Brisbane now ? I think you were swaying a bit last time we spoke.

Bye for now,
