Hi guys

Did a quick search under maternity didnt find an answer, if its been answered already apologies in advance

Help please, does anyone know or have experience with the points test on this please

From DIAC info points test

<<To claim points for skilled employment you must have, in the 10 years before you were invited to apply, at least 20 hours of paid work per week in your nominated skilled occupation and/or a closely related occupation.

>>

In respect to maternity does "paid maternity" leave count towards it, you have a contract saying you are employed for the required hours and pay slip saying you are paid. Or is the "paid work" mean you have to be at the work face.

TIA

As employment must be for remuneration, only periods of leave on full pay may be counted as time during which an applicant was employed. That means those periods of extended leave without pay (for example, maternity or paternity leave) might not be counted as a period of employment.
