  1. However, once you become an Australian citizen, you must use an Aus passport to exit the country. https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Citi/Curr/Citizenship-through-travel I had a friend who had checked in her Aus passport with her luggage because she was travelling to the UK. Apparently, she was not allowed to exit with her British passport and had to go through much trouble to retrieve her bag.
  2. Cheers for the detailed message @ecg78. My application was finally approved mid last month after a wait of more than 80 days of submitting the application. Hopefully, I would get an invitation for the one on the 23/9 or the 19/10 Keeping my fingers crossed till then!
  3. That was so quick indeed! Congrats! Was the invitation via e-mail or was it snail mail? I've heard rumours of City of Sydney using email instead.
  4. Date applied - 29/4/2016 City/Council area - City of Sydney Online / Paper - Online Date received the acknowledgement email - same day Date of the Citizenship Test - 23/06/2016 - passed (100%) Approval letter - Waiting (Called them up on 18/07/2016, told me it's been approved weeks ago, but no letter, unfortunately.*) Date of Ceremony - TBA * I had a friend who attended his citizenship ceremony last week, however, did not get the certificate. He'd been told that they can issue it as the minister is not in office. And they'd have to wait for the new minister to be sworn in. Hopefully, it's not the case for me. In any case, the minister got appointed this morning. So keeping my fingers crossed.
