  1. aqlotz21, Congratulations! Waiting paid off! Best of luck on your new life in Oz =)
  2. Ronny, The new system that started in December 2014 states that a 1) new case officer will look at your file whenever they request documents and 2) a case officer will not review your documents until 28 days of requesting additional documents. So if you they asked you for docs 09/01, then the 28 day mark is 05/02. My MA said it usually takes about 2 weeks from that date to hear anything. Hope that helps!
  3. I'm an ELICOS Teacher, my workplace is in QLD and my processing center was in Parramatta. Best Wishes
  4. Hello Everyone, My day has finally come. I GOT MY VISA!!!:biglaugh: Here are my timeline details: Updated time line: Nomination and Visa Application Lodged: September 9 Nomination approved: December 23 Additional Documents Requested: January 9 VISA APPROVAL: FEBRUARY 13 5.1 months Thank you to everyone in the forum! With your messages, I was able stay patient and you helped me feel less alone in this struggle. I'm sending happiness and positive energy that you will soon feel the joy I feel. BEST WISHES
  5. Each time they make a request, a new CO will evaluate the documents. So that means you will have a different CO reviewing your requested documents and all other documents a part of your application. This is the new system established December 2014.
  6. They asked for a copy of my university transcript and asked that I have a "relevant" diploma. According to the job description, any Bachelor's from any field is acceptable as long as you have a certificate, which I do. So either the CO didn't know the details of the job description by law or they are deciding to interpret the description in their own way. I gathered a lot more evidence than my transcript to prove my "relevance" so I hope the new CO will rule in my favor.
  7. Hi Boochuckie, You won't receive a response from them until at least 28 days from the date you received the additional document request. My MA said that they could still ask for additional documents but it is unlikely. I also was asked for more documents regarding my qualification for working. Both me and my MA were concerned considering, according to the law, I have fulfilled the requirements. I used the entire month to get as many documents in support of my qualification as I could and now I feel pretty confident. My MA sent in my additional documents yesterday on the 28th day from receiving the request. He estimates a few weeks or so to get a response. A new CO will be evaluating ALL the information again. I can't tell you if you should be concerned but hopefully your MA is able to assess whether you've proven that you are able to fulfill the job description you applied for. Best Wishes
  8. Oliver, Sorry I mispoke. It is 28 days from the day Immigration asks for additional documents.
  9. Oliver, Based on the information from my MA, you won't hear back from them until at least 28 days from the day you turn in your additional documents. Hope that helps.
  10. Maggie, According to my MA, the system has changed. Perhaps he is wrong but he also informed me that from December 2014, each time you have documents requested/different action processed, you have a new case officer. He said this is the new system for immigration. Just sharing what my MA has told me. =)
  11. Hello Everyone, I just wanted to share some information that my MA told me since I've never read it anywhere. If your CO asks for additional documents, Immigration will NOT go over the newly sent in documents earlier than the 29th day from the day you sent in the documents (This info could have helped Zena a few months ago!). Hope this helps someone! =)
  12. Congrats Zena! I'm so happy for you. Now I will need to borrow some of your strength, knowing what you went through. Today I got the dreaded news that I need to provide additional documents. So now I know I can add an additional one month minimum to my already 4 month wait. At least your story will help me remain patient. However, I am not as optimistic now since they are asking for documents that have nothing to do with the requirements of my position (a transcript when I've already provided the necessary diploma, certificate, and documented evidence over the years of experience asked for). Even my MA seems on edge since they are now telling me I must have a relevant bachelors degree when in the books it says ANY bachelors with a certificate is acceptable. Everyone, please send positive thoughts my way that the CO won't disregard what is written in the description of my job.
  13. Zena, I think there is no such thing as "normal" these days. Even my MA said that it is taking longer than usual. If I have to guess, there are more applicants than usual and/or their workload has piled up so everyone's process is slowed down. Also, I've noticed that if they ask for additional documents, that causes a drastic slowdown in the process. I'm wishing and hoping you find out soon! I can only imagine how hard it's been for you to wait so long. Fingers crossed for you!
  14. Aqlotz, I'm so happy you got your nomination. A 2 week difference between us and we both applied on the same day! Fingers crossed for our visa approval! I'm getting a little crazy waiting:twitcy:
  15. Good news everyone! My nomination was approved! Now I'm just waiting on the visa to be approved. Updated time line: Nomination and Visa Application Lodged: September 9 Nomination approved: December 23 Visa approval: ? That makes a wait of 3 months, 2 weeks and 1 day before hearing anything (for those of you wanting a wait estimate). By the way, I've read on the immigration website that they will be taking December 25, 26, 29 January 1 off for the holidays. So expect the process to be slightly delayed. Happy Holidays!
