Guest arkadynz
when applying for a de-facto (partner visa) can the one year living together requirement be fulfilled by her coming to australia(from Philippines) on a 676 tourist visa? Also if she applied for a student visa -how would she be affected by the Genuine Temporary Entrant(GTE) requirements that apply on students visas fron 5 November 2011. I am Australian citizen and she has previously been granted tourist visas to Australia (2010 and 2011) Thanks for your help with these problems gals and guys
Guest GeorgeD
Yes, time spent together on a 676 tourist visa counts in the 12 month relationship criteria...having said that...you need to be able to prove you have been in a de-facto relationship for 12 months...NOT prove you have lived together for 12 months! There are situations where time spent apart can also be counted...it depends on the exact nature of your relationship and other evidence you may have which proves joint coimmitments. Don't know about the student visa side of things, not an area I understand, sorry.
