mxh
Sorry if this has been asked elsewhere - I did a few searches but couldn't find anything specific on this. I've been in Sydney for just under 2 years now on a 457. My company will be happy to sponsor me for PR, but say they can't start any processing until I've been for the full 2 years (fair enough!) From reading previous posts, it appears that the procedure will be for my company to engage a migration agent, and the migration agent will then send me a list of the paperwork / checks etc that they require - I can see that bit taking a month or two in itself! So rather than wait until the migration agent contacts me, are there certain things that I can start working on beforehand - especially those that might take the longest to get sorted? Or are there good reasons for not doing these eg does any documentation that you get need to reference a PR application number etc?

mxh
Thanks - I'll check each of the forms, but for things like Police clearance is it worth doing it now? Or does it have to be done after a certain date, tied to an application number etc?
