Guest Chloe
Hello, I need some advice from someone who lives in Oz. My partner is coming out in Septemebr to train to be pilot, he has residency. I couldnt come out on a skilled visa, because even though my job is good in England, it means nothing in Oz, so i have had to apply for a WHV. I am so excited about starting my life in Oz (i have a lawyer who is going to get me added to his visa as a spouse). The only thing i am worried about is finding work. I understand the conditionsof the visa, but a job is important to me and i m worried i will not be able to find work and this will distroy my Oz experience. We will be living in Maroochydore. Is there anyone that can give my advise on the work situation out there, as its easier to ask someone who is there already. Is it going to be hard for me to find work? Im so scared about leaving security, to going into the un-known!!!!! I think im just panicing, it is a big step, any advice would be excellent, Thank you so much Chloe
Guest mark78
It's hard to say when you haven't mentioned what type of work you do. But anyway, check this link out for a snap shot of the jobs going on the Sunshine Coast area at the moment. http://tinyurl.com/8vqp2 Having a car will help alot, so you can travel to other areas besides Maroochy. Also, keep in mind you will be moving to an area mostly full of retiress and holiday makers, so decent jobs will be rare.

Aren't you worried about being caught out as being put on a visa as someones spouse? If caught you'll be kicked out of Aus and never allowed to return! Sounds like you're making things very complicated for yourself! Why not marry your partner and apply the proper way not fiddle the system as if you're caught out you'll not be allowed into Aus! Guest Chloe
Sorry Bradley, i dont think you understand. I am with my parner we have been together for 9 months. I am coming out on a working visa and ill apply for a defacto spouse visa, but i need to have been with my partner for 12 months. When im out on a WHV i can apply for my spouse visa while in Oz. I have an Australian lawyer who specialises in this helping me because like you said if i get it wrong i can get taken out of the country and a defacto spouse visa is one of the hardest to get due to interviews etc. I understand this process and have had it assured to me that this is all above board. My query wasnt about the visa, it was how difficult it is to find work in Oz. I will be getting married but not now until maybe the end of next year or the year after, due to us wanting to set up our home and life in Oz first. When i get married i want it to be done properly and trying to do everything at once is a bit impossible.
Guest Wayne in Oz
So how did it go Chloe? Did you find a job? What happened next? I live a few hours west of there. Used to live in Landsborough near Caloundra. I want to know if you ended up a lifesaver or not.
