Frankston is a large area with last count I read 100,000 people. Areas within Frankston are Soutn Frankston (on the hill), Olivers Hill (overlooks the Bay well some properties do), central Frankston (older houses walking distanct to everything), North Frankston (considered not quite right by some) Karingal (again considered not qr by some), Marylands, Lakewood, Whistlestop Estate, Tahnee Lodge some new housing and some older.

Schooling, Catholic High School and primary schools, Frankston High School well sought after state school and people have to live in the catchment in order for their children to attend at the school. Mount Erin high school considered by those wanting academic excellence as not so on par but know a lot of successful young people who went there. Monash University has a campus at Frankston and there is a TAFE College as well.

Shopping central Frankston Bayside and Frankston Plaza Shopping Centres, strip shopping, lots of cafes, restaurants and cinema complex.

Tennis club, cricket club, soccer clubs, aussi rules, baseball, basketball, netball all played in Frankston. There are also bowling clubs and a croquet club.

There are many doctors practises in Frankston and just a matter of finding one you like. There is a large practise in central Frankston where they bulk bill. After hours clinic is at the Frankston Hospital (not the emergency) most doctors give out the information after hours. There are two private hospitals in Frankston. Many health associated services are there also. Specialist doctors, podiatrist, masseurs, physios, sports physios, chiropracter, chinese medicine, acupuncture.

There are small shopping centres in and around the areas in Frankston such as Tower Hill Shopping Centre, Heatherhill Road, Foot Street.

The electrified train line ends at Frankston and there is parking at the station but if you commute from Frankston you need to be early to get a car park as its usually full quite early in the morning. Its an hour by train to the CBD and in the morning and evening peak they run express trains. Express to the yards of Flinders Street that is where you wait till they can get the train into the loop.

The beach is nice at Frankston and goes right up to Carrum and is very popular.

There are many parks around with play equipment for children. Bike paths are also available.

There is a bulky goods section in Frankston having the usual shops like Bunnings, Harvey Norman, the Good Guys, Spotlight, Anaconda, JB Hi Fi and others.

Night life in Frankston can be like any other city in the world where the young congregate from the areas around and attend the clubs and pubs and drink too much and get into fights etc and its an ongoing problem with youth from every era I believe.

Ling Wah is a very nice chinese restaurant in Frankston and the service is second to none, been there for over thirty years now and still going strong. There are many other restaurants there.

The Arts Centre is very good and has ballet and shows on throughout the year and is well patronised as it saves us from having to go to the city to see the shows.

Frankston Hospital services the whole of the Mornington Peninsula area, Seaford and Langwarrin so is a very busy hospital and always looking for staff.

Property prices are reasonable in Frankston and a lot of older houses requiring a bit of work on larger land are available, the beauty of these is they have all the services available and are not far from anything. New builds tend to have no services as there is a lot more of the same age group living in the newer areas which puts a strain on any resources there are.
