Guest Miranda
Hi Im moving to Sydney in the beginning of March on a working holiday visa and am a bit worried about not knowing anyone. Ive lived in Japan for the last couple of years, but this was work so everything was sorted out for me. In Sydney i wont have this, so wondered if anyone had any tips about how to go about everything in the best way. Ive booked a hostel in Sydney for 10 days so that i can look for a place more permanent, but am pretty clueless about the best way to go about job hunting etc. Also im a pretty sociable person so wondered what that side of things is like too? If anyone has any tips or advice id be very grateful to hear from you! Thank u Miranda:laugh:

Guest Emma28
Hi miranda, Great to hear your coming out here. I arrived two weeks ago and due to start work next monday as a nurse so here for four years. Don`t worry about meeting people you`l do fine. I came here alone to and already have a few friends and not even started work yet. but once you start work you`l do fine. You have the advantage of being in a hostel for a few days or so this will help. The clue is to get to know a few people like on this website, I`ve met a few. Its a case of getting yourself out there and you`l meet friends of friends. If you enjoy socialising you`l be fine. Not sure on the job front though not had to look but i`m sure it`l be pretty easy. Look on gumtree website thats quite popular out here they have jobs on there i think. Keep in touch and don`t worry be excited!!!! Emm ax
