Medina barrack plaza

Hi all,

has anyone ever stayed in the medina barrack plaza apartments. If so how did you find it, and how was the air con (can't cope without it).

We stayed there last December in a 1 bed apt and it was fab. Clean, modern, fully equipped with washing machine/dryer, every kitchen utensil you would need, toaster, coffee maker, full size fridge, cd player, tv, dining table etc. It really was one of the best serviced apartments we have ever stayed at (and having come from the dump we stayed in at Cottesloe Beach for our first two nights it was the highlight of our stay in Perth). Also it's just across the road from Woolworths so you can stock up on provisions easily. There is also a gym which we used (not much in there but enough - couple of treadmills and some weight machines. There is a public bbq facility on the terrace through the gym which looked good also. Think the only negative for it was the view from our window & balcony which overlooked the service yard/rubbish bin/car park at the back of some shops but it was a quiet room. Would definately recommend staying there and would return.

We were a bit dubious before staying there after reading some tripadvisor reviews (most of which were good but obviously some very fussy people out there!) who said it was in a dodgy location near some seedy shops! True, there are one or two "massage parlours" next door but we didn't see anyone hanging around them or feel threatened in the area at all.

It's not really a cheap option for accomodation but worth the money for sure, and we would definately choose to stay there again if we ever went back to Perth.

We stayed there too on our arrival last September and thought how lovely it was too. We too would stay there again for definate. The only problem we had was parking the hilux we had been lent by Kev's work to get down to Bunbury as the car park is very small for that type of vehicle.However they did allow us to park in another area.We had a 2 bedroom apartment, which also overlooked the back where we could see the rubbish and carparks

 

This is the best place we have stayed since we have arrived, other places have had mouldy smelling cupboards where you have to wash and scrub the pots before using them ,broken beds(this was a hotel in Perth)

 

So all in all I'd say the Medina barak plaza is top of our list to stay or reccommend

Try the Mounts Bay Apartments in West Perth, there is parking for each apartment, a pool, gym, restauarnt, pizza place next door and right outside is the free bus (CAT) service which takes you around Perth city. We stayed in a two bed apartment and it had two baths which was great as sharing with my mum and its right across the road from the Swan River so some apartments can have great views.
