Recommended Posts

I lived in Perth 1992-2001

I had permanent residency and took out Australian citizenship

I worked in the health care sector firstly with a government hospital then this was taken over by a private healthcare company

Am I able to claim ny siperannuation payments back less tax or is there an age and time limit, I am currently 53

Hello Julian

As you were a permanent resident to be able to access your superannuation benefits then typically you will need to meet a condition of release, details found here: https://www.ato.gov.au/Super/APRA-regulated-funds/Paying-benefits/Releasing-benefits/Conditions-of-release/

That said there may be some slight variances in limited instances with certain government schemes and so it would also be diligent to contact your scheme directly for confirmation.

Hope this helps.
