I need to travel back urgently to the UK, does anyone have experience of obtaining an Emergency travel document? flossybeth Posted June 12, 2018 Share Posted June 12, 2018 A few years ago we booked for my husband to go back for his Mum's 70th and it wasn't until the Sunday before he was due to fly on the Wednesday that we realised his passport had expired. He managed to get an appointment at the Embassy in Melbourne (from Adelaide) on the Monday and be issued with his emergency travel document for his journey. He was only able to travel on the dates given with no deviation of his route. phil Posted June 13, 2018 Share Posted June 13, 2018 (edited) Not a lot of help for this time round, but next time you want to renew a UK passport you can do it at many Auspost offices. Edit, just checked and it looks like they may have stopped that now and Auspost only do an "Assistance service" to basically check you've filled the form in right.
