The town was built as accommodation for them that built the Eildon dam in the 1950/60's, not much has changed since then. Im pretty sure the nearest shopping is in Mansfield about 1 hour away. Petals Posted July 2, 2008 Share Posted July 2, 2008 Most of the arms of Eildon are now dry because of the drought and no water in them. Property has emerged that was submerged for years. Its very very sad actually we went over to Bairnsdale via Swifts Creek a few months ago which is past Eildon and bad bad. Alexandra is not that far either Yea.
