Samson
Hi, Its seems that the Cost involved in a Contributory Parent Visa Differs from A Contributory Parent Visa - New Born Child. Even on the Visa wizard on Immi states a different application charge. For example: 19k The second instalment (payable before grant of visa): Applicant who: was less than 18 at the time of application; and is a dependent child of an applicant for a Contributory Parent (Temporary) (Class UT) visa: $2095 [*]Applicant who Applicant who is a contributory parent newborn child: nil [*]Any other applicant: $29 130 I mean there is a big difference between nil and $29000 bucks. If anyone can confirm if there is a huge difference in cost for a new born or am I totally reading this wrong? Thanks Sam
George Lombard
Hi Samson, Only applicants who are 18 or over at the time of visa application need to pay the larger charge. Under 18 you pay the lower charge. If the child is born after application then I gather the fee is zero. Doesn't happen very often with CPV cases, most are beyond child bearing age. Samson
Ok, I totally have mis-understood what that meant. I thought it meant if the sponsor i,e new born baby (So in return the mother of the child) this would be the cost. Thanks for clearing that up. ;-) Just one more question, Is there any visa or way of securing a temp or perm visa for a new-born child, My family balance would be fine as I will only have a new born here in Australia, however me and the mother are not in a relationship anymore. I understand the old "just because you knocked someone up" doesn't mean you get a visa, the mother is Australian so the baby when born will be a Aus Citizen, I am British. I am currently applying for a 457, however I am pretty sure it will be declined on not sufficient experience. I just don't think i could afford the 60k visa fee and AOS. Any other advice would be very much appreciated. Edited February 1, 2017 by Samson
