Please with 5 points for Partner skills

Dear Agent,

Please help me with my point in Partner Skills,

My wife is the main applicant and she expect to get 65 pts for accountant general and I think it is not enough for Visa 189, therefore I want to be assessed for the Partner skills, however, my qualifications are below:

1. Bachelor Degree on Accounting in Vietnam

2. Completed Fundamental (first 10 papers) of ACCA

3. MBA – Shidler College of Business – University of Hawaii

4. IELTS 6.0

 

Please advise whether with that information, can I get the positive assessment from CPA for 5 Partner Skill point.

But from what you have written below, no, you will not currently meet the assessment criteria because one of the criteria is that you have scored no less than 7 in each section of the IELTS Academic test.

I see on the website of DIBP, the requirements for English of Partner skills is only 6 (competent) Therefore, My concern is whether I can pass the assessment from CPA or CA?

Yes that's correct, but the requirement for a skills assessment as an accountant is that you must have at least 7 in each section of the IELTS Academic (or equivalent) test. That will also of course apply to your wife.

Let me repeat: you need to score at least 7 in each of the 4 sections of the IELTS ACADEMIC test.

 

If you do that, and if your qualification is deemed to be equivalent to an Australian degree, and if you have studied all the required topics/modules, then yes, you may be able to get a positive skills assessment.

I am afraid that I do not understand what you are saying, and you seem to be quite confused about the requirements.

 

How can you get a skills assessment without it being a positive assessment?

 

Your partner needs a skills assessment for her nominated occupation. Since she is an accountant she needs to get a skills assessment from an accounting authority. So she will need to meet that authority's skills assessment criteria. If she fails the assessment then she clearly does not have a skills assessment.
