SOMV
You need to read the criteria for a successful skills assessment. These are available here: https://www.cpaaustralia.com.au/become-a-cpa/migration-assessment/criteria-and-requirements But from what you have written below, no, you will not currently meet the assessment criteria because one of the criteria is that you have scored no less than 7 in each section of the IELTS Academic test. Philips
I see on the website of DIBP, the requirements for English of Partner skills is only 6 (competent) Therefore, My concern is whether I can pass the assessment from CPA or CA? https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Visa-1/189- Partner skills You can receive five points if, when you are invited to apply for this visa, your partner provides evidence that they: were under 50 years of age had at least competent English had nominated an occupation on the same skilled occupation list as your nominated occupation had been assessed by the relevant assessing authority as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation. SOMV
Yes that's correct, but the requirement for a skills assessment as an accountant is that you must have at least 7 in each section of the IELTS Academic (or equivalent) test. That will also of course apply to your wife.
Philips
Thank you for your prompt reply, So if I can reach 7 in IELTS, then with my qualifications, May I receive positive assessment from CPA or CA?
SOMV
Let me repeat: you need to score at least 7 in each of the 4 sections of the IELTS ACADEMIC test. If you do that, and if your qualification is deemed to be equivalent to an Australian degree, and if you have studied all the required topics/modules, then yes, you may be able to get a positive skills assessment. Philips
had been assessed by the relevant assessing authority as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation. I understand that, DIBP just need the Partner be assessed as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation. No need to receive fully positive skills assessment like the Main Applicant. Please help to advise whether it is correct or not? Thank you very much.
SOMV
I am afraid that I do not understand what you are saying, and you seem to be quite confused about the requirements. How can you get a skills assessment without it being a positive assessment? Your partner needs a skills assessment for her nominated occupation. Since she is an accountant she needs to get a skills assessment from an accounting authority. So she will need to meet that authority's skills assessment criteria. If she fails the assessment then she clearly does not have a skills assessment. Cheers, Veronika had been assessed by the relevant assessing authority as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation.
