Perth and surrounding areas are excluded from the "regional areas" for the purposes of the 187, so no, your friend will not be able to sponsor you for the 187. The regional areas are all defined here:

https://www.border.gov.au/Trav/Work/Work/Allocation-dates-for-General-Skilled-Migration-applications/regional-growth#qld

Your friend may be able to sponsor you for a 457 temporary employer sponsored visa or a 186 employer sponsored visa instead. Although if they do opt for the 186 there are strict criteria that apply with respect to the business, including that they have contributed to the training of Australians in the last 12 months before applying. And you may also have to get a skills assessment.

Hi Somv,

Thanks for your suggestions! The biz of my friend is located near perth city. The postcode is 6003. It is excluded in eligible postcodes.

I saw the form 1404 from other forum, the postcodes of nominating biz are the 6090,6108,6000. They are all not in the eligible postscodes of WA.Are you sure I only apply the 457 or 186 instead? Thanks!

I don't understand what you mean when you say: "I saw the form 1404 from other forum, the postcodes of nominating biz are the 6090,6108,6000"

Form 1404 does not actually list any postcodes. You will have to point me in the direction of your information so that I know what you are talking about.

If the postcode of business location is 6083, then RSMS or SC187 application is not possible, unless the actual work place is in the regional area, but it doesn't look like relevant to your situation.

On the other hand, to nominate a marketing specialist by a small business is a troublesome application, for quite sometime now(past tow years?), DIBP is allergy to it, and if the business is genuinely in need of a marketing specialist, then there will be a lot more work involved.

ENS direct entry will require you to have a positive skills assessment and minimum 3 yrs of relevant working experience, even if a nomination been proved.

So SC457 visa is a most suitable visa in your situation, that is my opinion

Hi Wei Shu,

Thanks for your suggestions!

But my friend will resign the two part-time job employees, and employ me as a full-time marketing specialist, he really needs a marketing to open the chinese market. Do you think it is reasonable if the acutal work palce in the regional area?

Case by case. There will be a consideration as to the nominated position is necessary for the operation or just for the purpose of.
