Dubliner
Hi all, Moving to WA at the end of the month - car won't follow me until October. Does anyone know if I can insure (and if so how) my car while it's in the UK and I'm in Oz please? :cute: Cheers Dub.
CaptainR
I will say you'll probably need a specialist broker for this. Almost all insurance companies require you to be resident and have a limit on how many days you can be absent from the country. I learn't this to my dismay several years back in the UK when I was insured with Admiral, I was renewing and she asked me if I still worked on Ships, and then asked how long I was away for, I said around 6 months a year. Immediately I was advised I could no longer be insured and my insurance would be terminated. Was a nightmare finding an insurance company that would insure me. You can of course forget to tell the insurance company you are no longer resident, however this may invalidate your claim in the even of theft or damage.
