Pommieinoz
Hello, I'm writing in seek of some information in regard to my Visa. I moved to Australia with my long term Australian citizen partner on a subclass 100 defacto spousal visa nearly 3 years ago. The relationship has sadly gone on the rocks and just wondering what my options are (if any) in the event of an actual break up. I've in full-time employment, financially independent etc and just want ensure I can continue my new life here down under if a break up occurs down the line. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Leanne Stevens
If you're on the Subclass 100 visa it means you have permanent residency. So if the relationship should unfortunately break down, there should be no impact on your visa. It is only when you are on the temporary visa (Subclass 309) or a bridging visa, that you would have a problem.
