michael1234
On the form 80 there is a question asking "Do you have any personal contacts in Australia?". I am not sure who I should put in there. Can anyone share their experience or knowledge of how DIBP make use of this information? has anyone had any experience of the personal contacts being contacted and asked for information? if so, what information were they asked for? Regards, Michael.
kyliedonut
I was interested in this too - my only guess (probably from watching too much "Nothing to Declare") was that they perhaps would contact them to confirm your character or intentions in Australia - although I guess anyone having to fill in Form 80 will have the same intention of working and living in Australia. Who knows. Would be interested in hearing if anyone has been contacted via these details provided though.
CaptainC
It's so they have a starting point if you break any visa conditions and do a runner.
Isabelj28
I have relatives in Australia. I put them down. But no one ever contacted them. I guess it's also to provide more context to your application.
